Egon and the Blaine (1955)

Part 6

The next day, Egon Spengler just watched Back to Front going through the calender to mark when the baby will be born as he said "Aha! Now, let's see. That'll be about it. Oh, well." He then marked a circle on the April page. A few months went by, and it was December. In the baby's room, Back to Front was putting up a French flag on the wall as he said "Claude. There isn't any way we can tell for sure when it's going to be here, is there?" On the desk, Claude was busy with writing down baby names as he said "I'm afraid not. Nobody ever knows for certain. All we can do is hope." A month has past by, and it was in the middle of January. One late evening, Egon was fast asleep when he heard the sound of Back to Front walking down the steps as he yawned. Egon poked his head out the door as Back to Front stepped towards the front door. He put his fur coat on, and he tried to to open the door, but a gust of wind blew out, and snow rushed in as Egon stepped back. Back to Front then closed the door, and looked upstairs as he said "Claude? Are you sure you want watermelon?" "Mm-hmm." Claude said. "Oh! And some French Onion Soup too!" "French Onion Soup?" Back to Front asked. "Oh. All right, Claude!" He opened and struggled to get out as the snow blew in Egon's face, and he stepped back.

A month has past again, and it was the middle of Feburary. One early evening, Claude, and his Raggy Doll friends where having a baby shower party. "That's the cutest little thing I ever saw!"  Princess said. "And that bonnet!" Lucy said "Isn't it just adorable?!" "Don't you just love showers?!" Nichole asked. Dotty looked at Claude as She said "Darling, I've never seen you look more beautiful." "Isn't he absolutely radiant?" Lucy asked. "Radiant!" Dotty said. "Why, that's just what I told my husband yesterday! Darling, I said, Claude looks radiant! Positively radiant! Why in all my days, I said, I've never seen any doll as radiant as Claude." Egon walked around the room as he tried to get to the door. Once he made it though, he squeezed his way though the Male Raggy Dolls who happened to be Back to Front's friends as he walked around. The Male Dolls were having a laugh as Ragamuffin said "Back to Front, you look terrible!" "Absolutely horrible!" Hi-Fi said. "I never saw you look worse." Rupert the Roo said. "Cheer up, Back to Front!" Sadsack said. "Old Doctor has never lost a father yet!"

-Two months later-

One rainy day in the middle of April, Claude has just giving birth to a Baby Girl named Angelique, and Back to Front was on the phone with Claude's Brother named Jacques. "Yes, Uncle Jacques, it's a Girl! U-Uh, a Girl!" Jacques asked about the eye color, and Back to Front said "What's that? Eyes? Oh, what color are they? Well, oh gosh! I-I forgot to look!" He dropped the phone, and ran up the stairs past Wilbur Post as he said "A Girl! It's a doctor! Doctor, it's a Girl!" "Yes, yes, I know." Wilbur Post said as he walked out. As Back to Front ran up the stairs, he said "Aha, a Girl! Oh, boy, oh boy! It's a Girl! It's a Girl!" Egon looked at the phone as Jacques' voice said "Hello, hello, Back to Front? Are you there, Back to Front? Central, central, we've been cut off. Hello? Hello? Hello? Hello?" Egon just looked on in confusion. The next day, it was a beautiful day, and Angelique was crying in her bedroom. Down stairs, Egon was looking up in awe as he muttered "What is a baby? I just can't understand it. It must be something wonderful and grand cause the toons are smiling. I must find out." he walked up the stairs, and went halfway to the Angelique's room. he looked at Claude rocking Angelique's crib. Back to Front then motioned Egon to come close, and he did. Egon then smiled at Angelique who smiled back as he introduced her to his PKE Meter, and Back to Front and Claude patted his head.
