"William" She walked into the bedroom and he was hiding under the bed. She got down on the floor and looked at him.

"Is he gone?" He asked "He is mad at you"

"Yes, he's gone. And you don't have to worry about him. Grab your suitcase. We're leaving" She urged him out from under the bed. She packed her things and loaded her car. She was tempted to leave the luxury jewelry behind but instead, she took it. However, she did leave the M chain he had gifted her. Or at least she thought he gifted her.

Mister stood and watched as Miranda left. He wouldn't admit it out loud but she was the greatest talent he had seen in a while and he hated to see her go.

"Where are we going" William asked

"To a friend's house"

"A better friend than him I hope" He mumbled

"Ground rules kid, I'm your mom so quit mouthing off to me. I know your grandparents taught you respect.  They were big on that when I was a kid. Now you've called me dysfunctional once and I let it slide. Stay in a child's place.  Another rule... Well I don't have any more but we'll figure it out"
She pulled up to Callie's place. She was outside waiting for them. Miranda had explained everything to her and she was happy to help. She had already decided she didn't want to work under Mister anymore but she and Miranda had developed a friendship.

"Hello there" Callie smiled " This is him" She looked at Miranda. Miranda just nodded.

"Hello, I'm William"

"I'm Callie" She opened the door and they all walked in. Callie made them some food to eat.

"Breakfast is delicious Callie. Hey mom can you cook" William asked with a mouth full of waffles. Miranda didn't respond to him and he tapped her causing her to acknowledge him

"What's that"

"I said Mom can you cook"

"Oh uh yeah. I used to cook with your grandma. Sorry not used to being called mom"

"Should I call you Miranda"

"Mom's fine"

"He's a handsome young fellow" Callie smiled

"Grandma says I have mom's smile"

"Enjoy your food I'm going to talk to Callie" Miranda rubbed his head and they got up from the table. They walked to the living room to talk.

"What are you going to do"

"I have to call my parents, right"

"You haven't talked to them since you dropped a baby off on their doorstep"

"I didn't drop him off on their doorstep" She side-eyed her " I took him there and gave him to them. I talked to them and then I left"

"Why wouldn't she call before sending him back" She asked

"She called Tucker"

"Why him"

"That part isn't totally clear to me. I guess when I left his number was the number she had to get in contact with me through"

"So what are you and Tucker going to do now"

"Tucker said his girlfriend doesn't want William around. And I told Tucker I hid our son because he isn't fit to be a dad so he told me to raise him alone."

"That bastard"

"I don't want my son around him anyway or this girlfriend"

"This is quite the mess"
