Death was a common thing in Sky Monroe's life and no matter how many times she was forced to endure the painful process of grieving, it never got any easier. The act will always feel just as uncomfortable as it did the first time.

The girl was only fifteen years old, so fragile and so innocent, the first time she was forced to endure the uncomfortable feeling of watching a loved one die against their will. She had witnessed the life slowly being drained from her older brother's body at the hands of the Council. He had been wrongly executed for threatening to release sensitive information that was never meant to be made public to the people.

And Sky was forced to watch every second of his death as punishment for her involvement in his unspeakable actions. She never even got the chance to grieve before being forcibly dragged away and thrown into solitary confinement.

The pain that she was forced to endure that day was something that never left, marking her depleting soul like scar. Every time she blinked, she could still see glimpses of the nightmare that continued to consume her every waking moment. She felt so alone, so isolated from the once bright world that had been tainted black by death.

The only person who tried to rescue her from drowning in the depths of sorrow, was Sebastian Kwon. He was the one who tried to pick up the broken pieces of her life that had been scattered everywhere. He was the one that tried to guide her through the nightmares.

Even though his father was the reason behind her hurt, she could never find it in herself to take it out on his gentle soul. He was basically the only person she had, since everyone else in her life had chosen to leave or toss her aside. He was the only saving grace she had and the thing that kept her from wanting to leave this gloomy world

But he too had been unfortunately greeted by death, leaving the girl all alone again.

Sky Monroe was kneeled before the dirt grave, hot tears streaming down her face as she grieved the loss of her best friend. She felt like her heart had been ripped from her chest and practically stomped on. She felt empty inside, as if all of the life had been sucked from her soul. No words could describe the pain she was feeling in this current moment.

She stared down at his grave, which was already covered in bundles of picked flowers that some of the teens had placed down. This was their way of showing as a sign of respect, without actually finding the proper words to do so. Nobody knew what to say in this depressing moment.
