The Captive

Mischief

The sun's lighting poured into the room from the balcony. The air smelled different, the sun shined different, they both felt different. Fauna layed on her back slowly opening her eyes she felt a heavy weight on her throat. She went to pull on her collar but it wasn't there instead layed the head of a sleeping Loki gently snoring. Fauna felt safe with his arm around her waist. Her biggest threat was controlling her but by the way he was underneath her stated asleep she was controlling him. Fauna turned towards him stroking his jet black hair as he started to open his eyes. A smile washed across his face "Good morning... Fauna" he said. The time Fauna spent with Loki her actual name had never escaped his mouth only "pet". Fauna felt her heart sink He said my name? Fauna laid her hand on his cheek "It is a good morning isn't?... Loki" she replied. They both stared at each other Loki gripped her waist tighter bringing her closer to him. Loki buried his face in her ear "Fauna... I lo-" the sound of the door knob turning interrupted his words making both of their hearts sink. They both sat up quickly in bed as a their eyes met a abrupt Maria. Maria eyes widen by the sight of a flustered woman in the bed of her love interest as she dropped the newly washed bed sheets. "Maria wait don't go to Odin please! " Loki pleaded but by the time he could finish his sentence Maria had already taken off down the hall. Loki leaped out of bed and started to put on his clothes.
"Who was that? Where is she going?"
"The maid who has a very big mouth. Hopefully I can stop her before she goes to Odin"
Fauna grabbed Loki by his arm
"What if they find me and kill me?"
"Nothing in all the nine realms is going to stop from making sure that never happens."

Maria stormed into Odin's office still in shock. "Maria now what makes you think you can storm in without knocking" he said. Still in shock she could only stare at him with her mouth open trying to force words out her mouth.
"Well say something Maria"
"There's a woman in Loki's chambers"
"What?"
Minutes later Loki bursted in both Odin and Maria stared him down as Odin stood up walking towards Loki. Maria kept her place not making contact with either of them.
"What is this mystery woman in your chambers?"
"Look father I can explain"
"What can you explain? That you brought someone in the castle without a notice!?"
Loki hesitated unsure about how to word his confession "Father she-" Loki was interrupted by the look upon Odin's face he was looking past him eyes wide and mouth open. Maria still had the same expression on her face but Odin's expression made Loki fear to turn around. But he slowly did at the door way was two guards trying to hold a squirming woman light brown hair tossing around as she tried to break away. The guards pushed her down to her knees as she looked up at Loki. "Stop!" He yelled at the guards but Odin stood in between Fauna and Loki. "Is this the woman Maria?" Maria's eyes shifted from Fauna to Loki fearing what to say.
"Is it!?"
"Yes"
Odin turned to Loki anger in his eyes
"So I publicly executed my own guard because of her?"
"But I can-"
"And you lied to for her?"
"Yes but-"
"And you kept her this whole time?!"
Loki couldn't get a word in and by the look I need his eyes he knew what Odin would do. "This stays in the castle no one else must know. But you princess will have your consequences and death is at the top of that list" he said. The guards started to pull Fauna away but Loki reached out for her. "No wait. Loki please don't let them take me!" Fauna shouted. Loki tried to grab her but Odin held him away
"Fauna!"
"Loki!"

Fauna was cuffed and chained nothing she wasn't used to. She stood before Odin, Frigga, Thor, and Loki fearless about what is to be done with her. "Fauna princess of Stvlhiem you have been missing for quite some time avoiding your execution?" Fauna grinned looking careless "Well sorta of it was more like vacation" she answered Loki kept his eyes on her. "Well I see to it you are to be publicly executed I do hope you enjoy a permanent vacation" The guards to started to take Fauna away "Father please don't do this. I'll do anything."
Loki pleaded falling to his knees at Odin's throne. "Do not not beg him Loki he will not kill me" she stated. Her words bounced off the walls and felt as if it echoed forever. The guards stopped pulling her away looking at Odin for a response.
"What makes you think I won't kill you in front of all of my people?"
"Well because you already did"
Everyone stood silent confused and shocked. Loki looked at Fauna standing up in confusion This woman is something unpredictable he thought. "Well you said it yourself you publicly executed someone because of me. I assume it's because you think he was the one who had let me go free?"
"Why yes"
"Odin the day we first met you told me you were the king of Asgard how would your people feel if their king lied about my where abouts?"
"How do you-"
"Did you forget I'm a princess Kings will say anything to make sure their people won't rebel. Wouldn't you?"
The main room never felt so quite. Fauna let out a loud hearty laugh that filled the room. Her head tilted back as she laughed harder. Odin stood up in anger being made a fool in his castle. Loki slightly grinned at her.
"So do you seeing what I'm saying here Odin?"
"Enlighten me"
"You tying the noose around my neck will only tighten the noose around yours.In other words if I die you are coming with me"
Thor walked towards Fauna intentions to kill her himself. As he walked closer the smile on her face got bigger. "Thor!" Loki shouted. Thor stopped a foot away from Fauna face to face with her gripping his hammer. "I will kill you" he whispered to her back away as Fauna waved goodbye. "So what is it that you want so this would not leave this castle" he said. Fauna turned to Loki grinning "I would to still like to stay in Asgard. My own home you could stowe me away somewhere far away from your people so they may not ask questions. But if they do we could just say that... I've lived here for a while" she said. Frigga turned to Odin in concern
"I'm not too sure about this"
"It has to be done"
Odin had came to his decision. "Fine you may stay in Asgard far far away from my people". The guards removed the cuffs off Fauna. "But on one condition you must stay away from Loki" Loki turned to Fauna staring at each other knowing that they both cannot go without each other. The god of mischief she thought. "We'll see about that Odin" she replied. Goddess of mischief  Loki thought.

A/N: Wow I can't belive I wrote my first story here! I had so much fun writing this I can't believe it's over... or is it?
