Note- MoRan is married.

Karan's body ached. He was sore, injured and slightly bloodied but the mission was over. It wasn't anything complicated, a solo mission- a quick retrieval of an important drive- and most of his injuries came from the narrow places he had to squeeze in or the occasional jumps that were just a little too high to come out unscathed from.

Night had fallen in true earnest, owing to the late hour. It was past 2. The academy was rightfully quiet when he left it after reporting the events of the mission to the colonel. As he settled in his jeep, a deep tiredness set in his bones. He drove quietly, unlocking the door to his house. His footsteps halted.

"Karan?" A voice asked softly, turning around. Monami. A small smile appeared on her face, and she walked closer. "Tum theek ho? Was the mission successful?"

His arm snaked around her waist, and he took a deep breath, humming. "The mission was successful. I am okay", he muttered, pulling away and smiling at his wife. "Soyi nahi tum?"

"I was waiting for you", she whispered, gently brushing his hair away from his face. Her fingers lingered on his cuts and he winced slightly when she accidentally touched a deep cut. "Okay, huh? Dikh raha hai kitna okay ho." He chuckled at her annoyed expression. "Baitho tum. I'll get the kit."

"Monami", he said, grabbing her wrist. "So jaate hain, na? I am very tired."

"5 minutes", she promised, guiding him to the sofa and pushing him down. "Please. Infection ho sakta hai."

"Arey, kuchh nahi hota, main..." He trailed off as she walked away, sighing. She wouldn't listen now anyway. She returned almost half a minute later, sitting down next to him and grabbing some cotton and disinfectant. "Main theek hoon. Zyaada..." He trailed off at her look, sighing again and leaning back on the sofa.

She cleaned the wounds on his face quietly for a long moment, and he obliged her, sitting still. His gaze fell on her face and his eyes traced her over- her long lashes, her soft eyes, her lips caught between her teeth, her fair cheeks, her- "Ghoorna band karo mujhe", she said.

"Ghoor nahi raha. Nihaar raha hoon", he corrected. He snaked an arm around her waist, pulling her closer. "Apni pretty wife ko."

"Flirt kar rahe ho, Major?" She whispered, leaning closer. Her fingers trailed down his chest, unbuttoning the top button of his shirt. She pushed herself away from him a little, pulling the material away from the cut on his chest.

"Nahi kar sakta?" He asked.

"Tumhaara hi toh haq hai karne ka." He smiled slightly. "Khaana khaaya?"

He hummed. "Tumne?" She nodded. "You should have slept. Mujhe nahi jaana kal but tumhe toh jaana hai hospital."

Her gaze lifted to meet his but she didn't comment, leaning back and looking him over. "Aur kahin lagi hai kya?" She held up a finger threateningly. "Jhooth bola toh dekh lena."

He shook his head. "Bruises hain", he admitted. "On my back. But you can't do much about that. It'll heal. Let's sleep now, please. Main bahut thak gaya hoon." She nodded.

His arms slipped underneath her, and she yelped slightly, laughing when he gathered her up in his arms. "Karan... I am not the one injured."

"Injured nahi hoon main", he protested, carrying her up the stairs to their bedroom. "Itne se bruises aur cuts mein injured kahan se? Isse zyaada hickeys aur scratches toh waise hi de deti ho tum mujhe." She slapped his chest, mindful of the cut as her cheeks darkened in a deep blush.

"Shut up", she muttered, hiding her face in his chest and he chuckled, pressing a kiss to her head. He pushed the door open with his back, kicking it shut.

He gently placed her down on the bed, lingering close to her for a long, affectionate kiss. "I need to change and freshen up", he whispered, pulling away. She nodded, watching her husband disappear in the bathroom. She closed her eyes, finally allowing her to relax.

The next moment, arms snaked around her waist and she opened her eyes. She had drifted off. She inhaled deeply, closing her eyes again, taking in his clean scent. He had showered.

"Were you scared?" He muttered. "Isliye nahi soyi kya?"

She turned in his embrace, resting her head on his heart. For a quiet moment, the two did nothing but bask in the other's presence. "Of course I was scared", she whispered. "Do you really have to ask that?"

He exhaled, kissing her head. "I am here now."

"I know." She closed her eyes again, pressing a kiss to his chest. "You are here now."

Note- I have no idea yeh kahan se aa gaya and how good or bad this is. This is incredibly random and kal mera exam hai par for some reason, this flowed out. It's very soft, just a subtle tale of love and worry. I wanted to write something with them being married for so long. I hope you like it. Tell me what you think and I would absolutely love if you vote and comment.
