When I got home I went to the bathroom. I took out the skin cream and rubbed it on my face, arms, and legs. My skin still wasn't any lighter, but I was in pain. I always felt good after putting on the cream, I felt almost white.
"Georgia!" My mom screamed. I quickly shoved the cream back into the drawer.
"Yes!" I screamed back while rushing down the steps. She had the phone in her hand when I got downstairs. I knew it was serious because she called my full name.
"I heard you were in the principal's office." She said putting the phone back on the hook. My mother had skin almost like Alicia. I sometimes found myself jealous of my mother, I knew I shouldn't feel that way about my mom. Why didn't I have skin like her?
"Georgia!" My mom repeated.
"Oh,um, it was nothing." I said.
"Girl, if you don't tell-" I cut her off.
"Ok! Some kid called me Blackie in class and another boy almost fought him." I said taking in a deep breath. My mom's frown turned into a wide smile.
"Aww, GG's got a bae!" She exclaimed jokingly. I was too embarrassed to laugh at my mother's attempt to "relate". If I was light enough, you could see me blushing. Charles was cute, but to mysterious. I don't know if he's boyfriend material. At least, not yet.
