Inner turmoil

Dev's POV:

Stroming out of the house, Dev took his car and left the place not paying heed to his mother or his sisters' words. He didn't know where to go. He just went on and on. With his eyes brimming with tears. His heart pounding very fast. Memories of the previous night flashing endlessly in his mind. His phone was flashing with calls from his mother, sister, Elena, mama ji everyone. But he didn't even care to reply to it. He went on and on, not stopping anywhere. After sometime, he stopped the car, and suddenly took a U turn and drove straight to the farmhouse where everything happened, where their hearts were broken, where Devakshi broke apart.

As he went inside the house, he saw everything was as it was yesterday, shattered pieces of glass, torn papers, crushed cushions, the place was a mess – just like Dev's life. He took the bottle of alcohol which was lying there in the counter. He opened the bottle and gulped everything in one go. He became numb, it was the only thing that helped him get rid of his pain. It was like a layer of protection that prevents him from getting hurt more and more. Though he was fully intoxicated, he didn't forget a single word from his last night conversation with Sonakshi.

Flashback:

I had totally lost my consciousness because of excessive alcohol consumption. I was never a person who drinks, but pain makes people do unexpected things. It was the only thing that kept me numb from feeling the pain of being separated from Sona. God knows since when I was there. The last time I saw, it was afternoon. But now it is dark and the birds are getting back to their homes, to their family. But here I am, with my family being shattered into pieces.

Absorbed in his thoughts, he didn't realise when Sonakshi had entered the house. She stood before him infuriated. She also had a paper in her hand. Finally, he noticed her and stood up unsteadily in his place trying to find steady ground.

"Sona, thank good you have come. I really want to talk to you. I am --" Before Dev could complete his sentence, Sonakshi snapped at him "what's left to talk Dev? You have already done everything. Now I know what you were thinking about me, about our relationship. I have always thought that you believed me even if others didn't. You would have trust on me even if others wouldn't. But I was so wrong. You didn't have even an ounce of belief that I will be with you always"

Dev was taken aback by her words; he couldn't understand what she was talking about. He spoke in disbelief "Sona what are you talking about what happened I really don't know what you are saying. And who said I didn't trust you. Of course, I did and I do now too"

Sonakshi let out a sarcastic laugh and said "oh really?! Then what the hell is this Dev?? Why did you get a prenup paper ready if you really trusted me so much. See, right there at the bottom of the page, it is your sign right Mr. Devrath Dixit" Saying so she threw the paper on Dev's face.

Dev took the paper in his hand and saw his sign on it. It was his sign! But he couldn't remember signing something like that. When he was suggested about the prenup by his lawyer, he himself had thrown him out of his office for even thinking of something like that. He then realised who arranged the prenup and got his sign without his consent. He tore the paper into pieced and threw it into the fireplace. He went near Sonakshi but she stepped back. Dev's voice creaked as he spoke "Sona please listen to me na, I didn't ask for this, I didn't want this. I told that even when my lawyer suggested me. Trust me Sona, I want us to be together, I love you. I am really sorry for what I told you this morning. That paper doesn't mean anything to me Sona. I need you, please come back"

Sonakshi removed her manga sutra, and kept it in the table nearby. "No Dev, I can't be with you anymore. I can't be with someone who insulted me and my family. You disrespected me and my profession. You humiliated my love for you by signing that prenup agreement. You have made fun my love and trust me You will never get this back in your life. How are you even thinking that I'll be with you? you are not the same person whom I loved, you are just a typical businessman who knows nothing except money. You are a spineless Mumma's boy Dev."

Hearing these words, Dev couldn't control his anger, he hollered at her

"Oh really Sonakshi? What do you think you are? You are just a middle-class nutritionist who is so arrogant and selfish. You think you will be able to repay the loan by instructing people to eat healthy food?? You should be thankful for what you have got, you can do nothing for your family. Your ego is hurt because I invested in your dumb brother's business. You know what, I shouldn't have loved you, I shouldn't have married you. From this very moment. I don't even want to see your face, there's no relationship between you and me"

"Thank you Dev!. You've made me realise that I was wrong to think that you are different from others. Now I know what kind of a person you are so I don't want to be with such a person. Don't even try to reach out to me.

WE ARE OVER Mr. Dev Dixit"

Saying so, Sonakshi left the farmhouse and also, Dev's life

Breaking off the trance, Dev found it very difficult to breath. He was becoming breathless. He didn't know what to do. The Powerful Business man was crumbling down into pieces without anyone to comfort him from the pain he was going through. As tears were rolling down his cheeks, his anger built up in his heart, he grunted his teeth in anger - 

"How can you do this to me Sonakshi? You abandoned me just like that? For whatever happened at the house and for the prenup paper, you just left me? You weren't even ready to listen to me Sonakshi, how could you? You promised me that you'd never leave me, but now I'm all alone. Maa expected from me that I should choose between you and her. You assumed that I'll choose her and now I'm deserted. I wanted to be with you Sonakshi, you could've given me a chance to tell you what I want. I really loved you Sonakshi. But that has become a history. Now I hate you. All of you have made my life a drama. From now I will live my life for myself. I will live however I want. Enough of me living my life on other's wishes. Now I'm not the same Dev anymore. Everything will change from now on. You are NOTHING to me Ms. Sonakshi Bose. I am done with you. It's over"
