chapter 6

"Hey, you ready to go?" Bella asked looking up from her computer.

"Yeah," she logged off her computer and gathered her stuff.

Just as we were leaving Mr.Banes office door opened and the man himself walked out. Bella smiled at him.

"Hello Mr.Bane, we were just heading to lunch" she greeted.

"Really? So am I" He stated matter of factly. Bella smiled and looked at me out of the corner of her eyes. I think she could tell I found him attractive by the way I was looking at him.

"Well, why don't you join us? I mean if you would like to that is," she offered with that charming smile if hers. He looked to be contemplating it for a few seconds until he nodded his head and agreed.

We all walked to the elevator and got on. I felt kind of nervous knowing I'm going to lunch with the owner of this company. What if I say something wrong? Is this gonna be awkward? I'm not good with awkward situations. I felt Stark shift next to me a bit and now we were almost shoulder to shoulder. I could feel his heat radiating from him.

By now I was fidgeting with my fingers and tapping my foot trying to calm myself. We finally got out of the elevator and let out a breath of relief. When we got outside Stark spoke up.

"Let's take my car. It's more roomy," Just as he said that a black car pulled up and the driver hopped out and made his way to our side. "Hello Thomas, how are you today?" He greeted the driver. Thomas smiled and nodded

"Just fine Mr.Bane," He held the door open and Stark motioned for us to get in. Bella went first and sat in the middle of the seat facing the back one, leaving me to have to share a seat with Mr.Bane. As soon as we were in and settled the car started moving. My leg would gently brush against stark's every so often and it made my stomach jump.

"I told him to take us to Luigis Italian place on south street if that's okay with you two," I jumped slightly from being pulled from my thoughts.

"That sounds lovely" I said as Bella just made a sound of approval.

We made small talk here and there, nothing too interesting and I had successfully only stuttered a few times!
When the restaurant cane into view I felt my nerves skyrocket. This place was... fancy. It seemed to be a five star restaurant! I saw a group of men walking in dressed in Armani suits. I looked down at my attire and immediately started to feel self conscious. I was obviously not dressed for such an extravagant place.

"Here we are," Stark said with a grin. He stepped out of the car and held his hand for me to take. My cheeks heated up as I took his offered hand and stepped out. When Bella got out Stark led us inside. When we entered I shrank behind stark trying to make myself look as invisible as possible.

"Good afternoon Mr.bane, it's a pleasure to see you again! Would you like your usual table?" The host greeted

"Yes please" the host started to lead us to a booth in the back of the room.

Bella sat on one side of the booth and Stark gestured for me to take a seat on the other side. Stark slid in his seat beside me which made me feel a bit giddy inside.

I glanced up at Bella and she threw me a playful wink. Did she know something I didn't? I was pulled from my thoughts when a waiter came by to take our drink orders. When he left Bella decided to get to know me.

"So, how are you liking the job? Meet anyone interesting?"

"It's great, and no, no one interesting so far, besides you of course" I chuckled.

She giggled "Well thank you, how are you and your co-workers getting along? And don't you dare lie to me," she glared playfully

"Well, I don't think they like me very much, but I'm not much of a people person so it's okay" I chuckled a bit. It was true, my Co-workers weren't very fond of me. The dirty looks and snide comments they make behind my back make that very obvious. I even heard one of them say "He probably sucked the bosses dick for the job,'. The comments do hurt but I try my best not to let them get to me.

Bella gasped dramatically, "what? How could anyone dislike you? They are obviously blind!"

"They're just jealous," Stark added.

I chuckled "I suppose so,"

I looked down at my menu and my eyes widened a bit. 30 dollars for a salad?! These prices are outrageous. How am I going to pay for this? I haven't even gotten my first paycheck!

"You can get anything you'd like, I'm paying," Stark said with a smile. That made me relax a bit but I remained tense. I wasn't a fan of using other people's money. I scanned the menu for one of their cheaper meals but everything was 30 dollars or more.
I decided to go with a small pasta dish. It wasn't too expensive.

The waiter came back with our drinks. "are you ready to order?" He asked politely, looking at us expectantly.

Stark looked to me and Bella silently asking us if we were ready to order. We both gave slight nods.

"Yes we are," the waiter nodded and looked to Stark. Stark looked to me and the waiter followed suit.

"Oh, um I'll just take the chicken fettuccine plate," I spoke shyly.

Stark nodded approvingly "excellent choice, you should get it with the shrimp side, it compliments it greatly," I blushed a bit

"Um, ok sure"

Stark nodded to the waiter "and add a side of three cheese fondue to that"

The waiter nodded and scribbled down the order on his notepad. Bella and Stark placed their orders and we were left to ourselves once again. They continued to ask me general questions about myself And we shared some stories. The conversation stopped when our food got here. When my food was set in front of me I couldn't help but gawk a bit. There was so much food! How am I going to eat all of this? Everyone started to dig in so I decided to join them and let me tell you, the food was delicious. I've never tasted such tasteful cuisine. Now I know why this place is so popular!

We finished our meal in silence, too engrossed in our food to talk. By the time we all finished our meals it was about time to head back to work.

Mr.Bane paid and we walked out to the car that was waiting for us. We piled into the car and Bella pouted a bit.

"We didn't even get to gossip a bunch," she said in a pouty voice "maybe next time we won't go somewhere with such good food so we can talk between bites," she said jokingly shooting a playful glare towards Stark. I chuckled and told her I was looking forward to it.

We arrived back at the office building and went our separate ways, but before I could get to far Stark stopped me. I looked at him curiously waiting for him to speak.

"We should have lunch together again sometime," He suggested. My face heated. He wanted to have lunch with me again? I smiled at him and nodded. He beamed a smile back and walked away.

I turned on my heel and headed to the lifts. I reached my floor and got back to work with a smile on my face.

This has definitely been a great day.

Ugggh, it's been a while! I just kinda got stuck on the story line but I wrote a scene which I can't wait to involve in the future for this story. Till next time my peeps!
