The morning sun streamed through the windows of the lake house, illuminating the cozy interior in a golden glow. Vinnie Copper stretched, yawning as she rolled out of bed. Today felt different; there was a lightness in the air that made her smile involuntarily. Maybe it was the anticipation of a day filled with adventure—or perhaps it was simply Trevor. Jack, Cole, Luke, and Alex all decided they were gonna spend one more day with Jack and Luke's parents before coming down so today they should be coming.

As she made her way to the kitchen, the rich aroma of coffee wafted through the air. Trevor was already up, dressed in a casual pair of shorts and a fitted t-shirt that accentuated his athletic build. He turned to her with a grin, his dark hair tousled, looking effortlessly charming.

"Good morning, sunshine!" he called, pouring her a cup of coffee.

"Morning," Vinnie replied, accepting the steaming mug with a grateful smile. "What's the plan for today? You seem overly cheery for someone who just woke up."

Trevor chuckled, leaning against the counter. "Just you wait. I've got a full day of activities lined up. We're gonna make this a summer to remember."

Vinnie raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh, really? Lay it on me, Mr. Event Planner."

He grinned wider, clearly enjoying the anticipation. "First up, we're hitting the lake for some kayaking. Then I thought we could go for a hike, and after that, we'll come back and cook up some burgers for dinner. But that's not all," he added with a dramatic pause. "I've also planned a little bonfire on the beach tonight." The beach wasn't really a beach it was an area in between our house and the Hughes brother's house in which you could walk straight into the lake.

Vinnie clapped her hands in delight. "That sounds amazing! I didn't know you had this kind of planning skills in you."

Trevor shrugged, feigning nonchalance. "You'd be surprised what I can do when I'm not on the ice. Plus, I figured I should impress you somehow."

"Oh, you're definitely impressing me," she said, teasingly nudging him with her elbow. "But we both know the real reason you planned all this. You just want to show off your kayaking skills."

"Guilty as charged," he laughed, pushing himself off the counter and grabbing his backpack. "Now hurry up and get ready! We don't have all day."

Vinnie quickly finished her coffee and dashed to her room to change into her swimsuit and cover-up. As she pulled on her swimsuit, she couldn't help but feel a tingle of excitement about spending the day with Trevor. It was as if every moment they spent together was laced with an undeniable chemistry, a current that was both thrilling and terrifying.

When she emerged, Trevor was waiting by the door, his eyes lighting up at the sight of her. "Wow, look at you! Are you sure you're ready for the lake? You might just outshine the water."

Vinnie rolled her eyes but felt a blush creep up her cheeks. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Zegras."

"Just trying to keep it real," he said with a wink. "Now let's hit the lake before the sun gets too high."

The walk to the lake was filled with laughter and playful banter. Trevor blasted their favorite songs on his speaker, and they sang along, both completely immersed in the moment. Vinnie felt the tension from the day before dissolve as they walked.

Once they got to the dock, they grabbed their kayaks and launched them into the lake. Vinnie paddled alongside Trevor, her competitive spirit flaring as she tried to keep pace with him.

"Come on, slowpoke!" she teased, trying to overtake him.

Trevor laughed, his strokes powerful and steady. "You'll have to do better than that!"
