Some Tea and a Dream

You know you fell asleep in the orphanage, so why are you waking up in a forest?

Somehow you weren't panicking. Which is weird since you haven't had your anxiety medication since you were yeeted into the world of genshin. In saying that you hadn't had a full panic attack since arriving either.

"That would be because of me."

The voice startles you and you spin around to find the voice but the space around seems empty apart from the trees and the sound of a waterfall nearby. You could have sworn the voice came from behind you. And was that waterfall always there? You make your way towards the sound of falling water, shivering slightly when you realise that the waterfall was the only other sound in the forest.

"Who's there?" You call out in search for the source of the voice. It sounded neither close nor far away and you swear you recognise the voice from somewhere. You push past the tree line and find yourself staring at a beautiful waterfall, it had unnaturally clear water, to the point it also looked almost pinkish or purple. The waterfall itself didn't seem like it was moving, it looked like it was flowing backwards but the spray at the bottom and sound of the water landing in the clear pool told you that maybe you were imagining things.

A figure next to the small pool of water caught your attention. It was like you were in a dream as you couldn't focus on the figure. You could make out a general humanoid shape but as soon as you would try to focus on a specific part it would lose all focus.

"What in the Doctor Who bullshit is this?" You mutter and find yourself stopping a few steps away from the figure.

"I'm sorry for bringing you here so early."

"What?" You ask, wanting to take another step forward but find yourself glued in place, it's not like you couldn't move or that there was an invisible barrier, it was just that you couldn't move your legs forward.

"Come find me."

You want to ask more but like your movement it feels like you just can't. Like a dream or a script and it wasn't your turn to speak

"You're waking up now, but come find me. When your journey takes you there. Come find me."

The figure blurs before it disappears like mist or fog. You stare at the waterfall for a second longer and reach out your hand, finding yourself able to move again as you stumble.

"Wait!-" You call out, as you lunge forward a strange feeling settles in your chest, like a hand wrapped around something inside and pulls you down. You gasp as you fall but before your face hits the ground the scenery around you distorts like you were in a scene changing domain. The "hand" in your chest continues pulling and it's as if you get pulled in a circle as you then jolt upright with a gasp, finding yourself back where you fell asleep.

You breathe deeply, listening to your fast heart rate as you ground yourself in the room, clutching tightly at your chest and through your bedsheet.

"Bad dream?" You're surprised you don't jump at the voice and turn your head towards the source of the soothing female voice, finding Arlecchino sitting by your bed with a cup of tea in hand, sipping it gently. You open your mouth slightly before closing it, repeating the action again as you blink at her, processing things slower from half asleep.

"Just an uncomfortable one." You decide on, not wanting to cause unnecessary concern or drama around a strange dream. She just hums in response, taking another small sip from her cup before placing it down with a gentle clink. "What brings you to my-" you clear your throat at the voice break, blushing slightly with embarrassment, "-My room in the middle of the night?"
