Chapter 2: Adrenaline Rush

I wake up, my alarm clock blaring. It sounds like a siren. I try to turn it off. Plastic Cracking and snapping, Metal springs bending, wood denting, cracking, then snapping under the pressure. I jump up, and see burn marks on my pillows, right where my eyes were "what the hell!? What's happening to me!?" I exclaim. It takes 30 minutes before I Even try to open my door. The door feels light and fragile. Like If I pull any harder it's going to snap off. At school, I see Eva and Mia. "So how was the pizza?" Eva asks. "Not bad. A little bit crispy." I say. "Did you hear about that Meteor? I heard it crashed pretty close. " Eva says. After school I Go back to the meteor. It started all this, maybe it can give me some kind of answers. I start running towards it. I start going faster and faster. "Whooooo!" I Yell out excited. I found the meteor. The blue glow has dimmed. There's not many clues. I hear someone, Yelling, asking about where some kind of steel is. I run closer to the sounds. I hide behind the corner, and see some people in animal masks holding a gun to some guy's head. I found a piece of fabric on the ground. I tie it into a bandana to hide my face, and put on my hoodie, and pull up the hood. They Hit him with the back of their gun. They hit him again, and again. They're about to shoot him. It takes all of my Courage to step out from the corner, and Yell out "HEY! The Zoo Called! They want their animals back!" They look over at me. "Get lost! If you leave now, we won't kill you too!" One in a lion mask says. I use my speed, and grab the gun from his hand. I Throw it at him, Cracking the plastic mask. He stumbles back, onto the ground. I hear a loud Bang. Oh God I'm dead. Something hits my Head, and I fall back. I look down at the ground, and notice a Crushed bullet. I'm bulletproof? "You shouldn't have done that." I say, trying to act confident. Don't want them to know that I did not know I'm bulletproof. My forehead feels hot when the bullet hit. I start being more careless with fighting them. I try to punch one, but they move, and I punch the dumpster instead. My hand goes through the dumpster, and is engulfed in garbage. Eww. But also Awesome! Fast, strong, and Invincible? I speed over to another crook, they shoot at me, twice. I block with my arms, realizing that my hoodie has more holes in it than my school has good lunches in a week. I'd rather have a sleeveless hoodie than have everything else be shredded. I grab his hand, bending it upwards. He drops his gun, and I step on it, Crushing it. This feels amazing!! I feel so powerful!! I pick him up by his shirt, and lightly throw him. He goes flying into the wall. I looked back, and another one of the crooks grabbed the guy, holding a gun to his head. "Stay back before I blow his brains out!" He yells out. I stand up, but don't move. Shit! I can't risk it. I notice something in my pocket. A Thumbtack? I grabbed it. If I do this right, I can flick the thumbtack into his wrist. Causing him to drop the gun. I can't afford to miss. I subtly pull my hand out of my pocket. He's too focused on my Head to see. I flick the thumbtack, and it stabs into his wrist. He drops the gun, and just as he is reaching for it, I punch him, sending him flying into a Light pole. I walked over to the guy they were trying to kill. “You Alright?” I ask.  “Don’t Hurt me! I’ll Give you whatever you want!” He yells out. Right, forget Like everyone with Powers Weren't exactly Great people. We haven't had A Hero with powers in Years. “Oh! No, I’m Not Like The others! I mean I do have powers, but I’m not some self absorbed psychopath who has anger issues.” I say. “You’re not?” They ask, still skeptical. “If I wanted you dead I wouldn’t have stopped them.” I say. I tie the Crooks up, before Speeding off.
