The Doctor was standing there prepared to regenerate into her new face, Clara was standing by her side in tears still not prepared for the change

''I am sorry Clara, so, so sorry'' The Doctor was starting to spread the regeneration energy

-2 Days before regeneratrion-

No matter the branch, no matter the position, working in the police force was a tough and tiring job. One Yasmin Khan could definitely attest to that. She just came from a long shift and had no intention to do anything but just lie around and listen to music for an hour or two. She was extremely pleased to see that familiar blue box outside her work, making sure there was no long walk or bus travel to get home. She simply walked in, threw her bag on the seats in the console room, and headed for the shower in her room. When she was finished, she just laid down on her bed, lounging and relaxing, not a care in the world. All that was left was to take up her phone, plug in her headphones, set up her playlist and just let the music carry her to sleep. That would have happened as well, if not for one very loud Timelord.

"Yazzzzzzz!"

Yaz sighed, annoyed at the disturbance to her R&R time. She really didn't want to answer, but she knew that if she kept quiet, the Doctor would continue calling over and over, so she might as well give her the time of day.

"What?!"

"Can you meet me in my bedroom, please? I have something important I need your help with."

Now, this was something interesting. Help with something important. As she gets up to meet her friend, the ideas of what she could need help with ran through her head. Maybe there's some kind of intergalactic riddle to solve that she needed help with, or even providing backup to stop some rogue alien. Her thought process ended as she arrived at the Doctor's bedroom. She gave the door a sharp knock, eager to see what awaits her.

"Come in!"

"Hi."

"Hey."

"So.... what exactly do you need me here for?" Yaz said, a wide grin appearing on her face as she clasped her hands.

"I need you to.... help me rearrange the room!"

"What?" Yaz responded as she rubbed the back of her neck, her eyes glinting quizzically.

"What's wrong?"

"I just.... expected more, I guess. That's all you need me for? Just to fix up the room?"

"Yeah. You know, it's been a while since I've given this room a proper makeover, and sometimes you just need a few changes, just to keep things fresh."

Yaz's lips unintentionally pressed tight into a grimace as she listened to what the Doctor had to say. "I don't doubt that. I'm glad you're changing it up, but.... do you really need me here to do it?"

"Do you not want to help?" she asked, her voice deepening in the process as her shoulders dropped slightly.

"Oh no, no! I want to help! I just thought that this was something that the Tardis could do on its own." Yaz responded quickly, attempting to reassure the Doctor.

The Doctor's grin returned this time, knowing that Yaz would be her aid here.

"I mean yeah, she can. But this is more fun though. Putting our backs into it. Sometimes, doing these things for ourselves is what we need. Not the Tardis doing everything for us."

All Yaz can do is shake her head and smirk at her friend. The easy joy in which she could find in the simplest of things never ceased to impress her.

"Alright then. If that's what you want, we'll do it the old-fashioned way."
