"Report to your stations immediately. This is not a drill. We are under attack. We are under attack." The Avengers were in the process of infiltrating a HYDRA base in Sokovia, making their way through the woods and fighting HYDRA soldiers. Iron Man was flying up to the base in his armour, as he approached the base, he hit a forcefield. "Shit!" Tony cursed. "Language! JARVIS, what's the view from upstairs?" Steve said. "The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we've taken." JARVIS replied. Thor landed and fought some HYDRA agents, "Loki's Scepter must be here. Strucker couldn't mount this defense without it. At long last." Thor added.
Some HYDRA soldiers were shooting at the Avengers, Nova Sadie landed behind them. "Hey guys!" Nova exclaimed as they immediately turned to her and she knocked them out. A HYDRA jeep began to shoot at the Rogers girl, Natasha threw a grenade, blowing it up. "Thank you." Nova said to Natasha. The two women ran to other soldiers and knocked them out. "At long last is lasting a little long, boys." Natasha declared as she shot at another soldier. An energy blast hit a tree next to Clint, he took cover and fired an explosive arrow. "Yeah. I think we lost the element of surprise." Clint said. Iron Man shot other enemies, "Wait a second. No one else is going to deal with the fact that Cap just said "Language?"" Tony added. "I know." Steve replied as he threw his motorbike at some soldiers who were driving up in their truck, "It just slipped out."
At the HYDRA Research Base, Sokovia, Eastern Europe. "Who gave the order to attack?" Strucker said. "Herr Strucker, it's the Avengers." "They landed in the far woods, the perimeter guard panicked." a HYDRA soldier replied. "They have to be after the Scepter." Strucker whispered to List, then he turned to the soldiers, "Can we hold them?" "They're the Avengers!" "Deploy the rest of the tanks." "Yes, sir." "Concentrate fire on the weak ones. A hit can make them close ranks." he approached List and said, "Everything we've accomplished... But we're on the verge of our greatest breakthrough." "Then let's show them what we've accomplished. Send out the twins." List added. "It's too soon." "It's what they signed up for." "My men can hold them."
Stark flew to the HYDRA base to break in. HYDRA soldiers started shooting in the city. "Sir, the city is taking fire." JARVIS said. "Well, we know Strucker's not going to worry about civilian casualties. Send in the Iron Legion." The Iron Legion flew in and landed in the city. "This quadrant is unsafe. Please back away. We are here to help." The citizens of Sokovia gathered around the various armour. "This quadrant is unsafe. Please back away. Please back away. We wish to avoid collateral damage and will inform you when this current conflict is resolved. We are here to help. We are here to help." Citizens protested against the armour and threw various objects at them.

Back at the HYDRA base; Strucker spoke to his soldiers. "We will not yield. The Americans sent their circus freaks to test us. We will send them back in bags. No surrender!" "No surrender!" He turned to List and spoke, "I am going to surrender. You will delete everything. If we give the Avengers the weapons, they may not look too far into what we've been-" List looked in the direction where the twins were seconds before, "The twins." "They are not ready to take on-" Strucker replied. "No, no. I mean... Twins." List pointed to where Wanda and Pietro Maximoff were standing, but they were now gone.
