To the west of the mountains, rode a sea of radiant Pearl white stallions dressed in azure and lavender silk reigns. Men with mixtures of bright blue and dark blue. Leading this pack of men was Sima Shi, leader of the Jin clan. At the side of him,was his younger brother Sima Zhao . A man who looked not so determined to fight the war as his brother was. The small handful of men rode in silence, saving rocks sliding from sides of the mountain, and cries loud enough to be heard from so far away. Shi let out a deep sigh before riding off. His hands clenching the leather straps. He wanted to get this invasion over with and saw no other way to move around it. This Jiang Wei was pest buzzing around Shi's face, and he finally had enough. He had slowed the horse down and scanned the area below. Having spotted green flags and green armor traveling about, fighting his men. He noticed Shu's main camp wasn't guarded so well.
"What a bunch of imbeciles... " the leader mumbled towards himself, and smirked. He can easily seize the camp, kill any soldiers, and end this war. But he was no fool, he was aware that the camp was an illusion: What appeared from a distance isn't the same as up close. There's more to what meets the eyes.
"Brother, what are you waiting for? " Zhao asked, riding closer. His eyes meeting the same camp his brother had been watching for minutes. Two men of Wei were running to the main gate-and were both shot through the head, and now laying on the ground. Dead.
"Just as I thought, anyone who steps near that gate is dead in an instant. " He said, his eyes searching the area and he had seen men standing above, but that certainly wasn't where the shot had come from. It came from the centre. Shi noticed how clean cut the shot was and knew that it wasn't a hwacha. Some one had to have shot that arrow. Someone with incredible accuracy.
"Why do you wish to go to the main camp?" Zhao asked. Shi didn't answer. He had studied the camp long enough to see a full unit fall. Only by that center arrow. "Jiang Wei and Xiaohu Ba are not far away from that camp, meanwhile Liu Bei and his troops are in route to the eastern gate. "
Shi smirked to himself. Zhuge Liang wasn't around, nor was his protege. He saw an opportunity to grab on of Shu's men and use them as hostage;since Xiaohu Ba was lost. Shi figured that he would be obligated to take someone from Shu. He needed someone strong and worth taking. Someone who holds meaning to Shu. Aside from Liu Bei and Guan Suo , whom else could be of value.
Sima Shi and his troops had made it down the hill successfully. Heading towards the battlefield, where he had slain a number of his enemies. And caught himself glancing at the main camp like it was a beacon. Enchanting him to come closer.
"Deng Ai! " The Jin leader called put, before slashing his sword across a man's back. He dodged another man before driving his sword into the chest cavity of another.
"Break open the gate. " Sima Shi ordered ,before finishing off his final enemy. Deng Ai grunts before using his shoulder and breaking open the gate. The soldiers took no time swarming in, and The Sima brothers began their scanning. Searching for something to take back to Wei."Go! Hide in one of the tents!" One of the guards yelled out. Holding his blade out. Lu Fan scrambled back and took her bow along with a knife. The archers were doing well. Hiding within the gate and shooting through small holes. Just as she had planned. Lu Fan had also planned some traps at the south gate, and the sound of men screaming made her smile in glee. Her plan was a success. She had done it.
Until she had heard the gate give away, and the men now fighting . Making Lu Fan stay farther in the dark at the main tent. Her hands shaking as she held her knife close to her chest.
"I see... why should the main camp gather such a strong defense if there's nothing to guard?" She heard a man ask. "This is ridiculous...! "
"Maybe someone caught wind of us being here and smuggled the resources away. " Another man suggested in a lazy tone.
"There's still one more tent to check. "
Lu Fan had closed her eyes and tried her best not to shake so much. She hid behind one of the barrels and fought the urge to cry. This was the chance that she'll die. Her life will end so quickly that she'll hardly have the chance to experience it. She hasn't even told Zhao Yun she loved him. She fear that she may never get that chance again.
As she heard footsteps running off,Lu Fan sighed. Her armed hand lowered down towards her lap and she had closed her eyes. She was safe now, she can stay with Zhao Yun and uncle Liang. As she peered around the corner of the barrels -large hands reached out to grab her. Blindly attacking, Lu Fan swung her blade around until she heard a wince. She screamed and fought as the two of them stepped into the sunlight. The man had dropped her on the ground.
"Zhuge Lu Fan..." The man said, Lu Fan stared up at the man and growled. He was tall. With short hair and a handsome face, one that resembled a prince or a knight. "Daughter of Zhuge Chen, and Cao Lin. Your father is also a strategist of Wei just like my father , is he not?"
Lu Fan didn't respond. Her hands digging into the ground, and her head
Lowered in shame .
"I...I don't know my father... " Lu Fan explained. The man stared down at her, his eyes looked so scary to her. So mean and fearful, she wanted to hide. Then he sighed to himself.
This pathetic girl was just the person he was looking for. She was the niece of Zhuge Liang. He wondered if that defense strategy was her doing. If so he wouldn't mind picking ideas from her.
"Did you come up with the defense strategy for this camp? " The man had asked. More silence. The darker skinned man was smirking. He was wondering how long his brother had restrain himself from lashing out at her. Instead, he's acting like quite the gentleman.
Not that this girl wasn't worth it. She's pretty and cunning, not as beautiful and striking as lady Zhen Ji or Yuan ji , but she was something. Something well worth taking back to Wei.
"Zhao... we're taking the girl. See to it that the camp is destroyed . Burn it,if you have to. " Shi said, before glaring down at the girl and dragging her towards the main steed. Lu Fan struggled for freedom, but Sima Shi quickly grabbed the girl's arm and threw her towards the horse. Not caring if she had hurt herself in the process.
"Climb on, the sooner we can get back the better. " Sima Shi said before climbing on the calm beast instead. Lu Fan stared at the horse, before scanning around the camp. Everyone was dead now. The archers circled the wooden towers, and the soldiers were no longer there for her.
Jiang Wei!... Zhao Yun!
She frowned at the thought that Zhao Yun would come for her. He was fighting a war he didn't have time to fight for her safety. So Lu Fan was now alone. She had to think of what to do next, how to break free and run away.
Grabbing her arrow, Lu Fan drove it against Sima Shi. Using this moment to run, she had only made it a number of feet away before a sword had skinned her arm- and the big Sima Zhao blocking her way.
"That is enough, Shi. I see why you don't have children..." Zhao said, before looking down at the girl in front of him. " You can hardly keep a woman from running away from you."" My apologies, my talent doesn't involve women. Unlike yours...Mine actually gets us farther in wars." Shi remarked, before smirking at his brother.
"My lord," Lu Fan's eyes drifted towards a woman with blond hair. She looked stunning in blue. Her blue eyes sizing up Lu Fan before turning her attention to the Sima brothers. "What exactly should we do with this girl for now. She will only run away from us,and sooner or later, that will become tiresome. "
Shi winced before glaring cold brown daggers at the girl.
"Restrain her for now ."
Lu Fan stepped back, her eyes locking onto the man. She has to think of something. Anything. She needed to get away from these people."Lu Fan!!!" Her eyes widen as she saw Jiang Wei riding towards the gate. His eyes glaring in a dark state, Sima Shi turned and held his blade into the palm of his hand. Glaring intentively at the man on his horse.
" Sima Shi! Leave Lu Fan alone!" Sima shi locked eyes on Lu Fan.
" I doubt I can do that. " He turned his eyes towards the larger man behind him He picked up Lu Fan by her arm and the two were close to his pearl white steed." Take care of him. We're leaving."
Lu Fan begain to move and twist around. Finding ways out of this man's grip. He was hurting her; and she needed to get away from him. Jiang Wei quickly moved close to the man holding his beloved friend and fought off soldiers in the process.
"Jiang Wei!" It was the first time she had ever screamed a name. A first time she had ever cried in front of a man. Lu Fan had never felt so afraid in her life.
"Get her to the main camp. I'll return there shortly." Shi said, watching her leave the camp. He couldn't keep his eyes off the girl when she was here, but he was also more eager to head back to her;for some reason he cannot explain.
