Daughter of a dragon. [Sima Shi :Book 1]

Chapter 6

Sima Shi was sitting by his love's side and watched her eat her meal. She was indeed starving. Her face was covered in rice, and she drunk her cup of tea in one large gulp and continued to eat until her rice was no more. Earning a glare of disbelief on Sima Shi's face. She was such a small woman,despite her curves, she had such a little frame. How can she eat everything on the table all at once?!

"I see, You are used to eating with the soldiers more so than eating with others. So you've picked up their habit." He pointed out, Making Lu Fan tuck her hands under the table. Her eyes were looking away. She couldn't help herself, the food was yummy, and the tea was delicious.

"Rejoice, my lady. " He says,his hands rubbing her shoulders. "I was just learning more about my wife. Though this habit of yours must leave,and not be seen around Cao Pi. "

"Why should I care about Cao Pi? "She asks.

"Because he's your cousin, he cares about you and your well being. " Sima shi says,before munching on a meat bun. Lu Fan was sitting on straight while watching her husband. "And he can be a dangerous man to those who've failed him."

"You wish not to be one. " she says, he nods.

"I want you to be on your best behavior when he's around. " He says, she heard giggling and whispers from around the corner and pushed her rice bowl away. Somehow, she was no longer hungry. She had lost her appetite, and did not want to be here. So she stood up and left.

"My stomach is hurting. " She lied, Sima Shi grins.

"Because of all that food you ate. " He says. "You didn't have to eat it all, there is plenty of food for you to eat. "

She keeps walking, fingers laced together as she fought tears from falling. "Li Mei..!" She heard her husband call. "Li Mei, it was just a joke. "

She did not look back, she had turned a corner a ran into something purple and warm. The scent was alluring, and the purple figure wrapped around her. Holding tight.

"Mei mei, "She looked up at the voice, and quickly pushed herself away from it. There with a happy smile on his face , was Cao Pi. Lu Fan fixed her hair, and dipped herself into a bow. Remembering her scolding from her husband .

"Forgive me, Lord Cao Pi. " Cao Pi frowned, he was hoping for a more entertaining greeting, aside from the embrace they've encountered; Cao Pi wanted to hold his cousin a bit longer. She was a little sister to him. "I did not know you were here this soon. "

"I was anxious to see you again, Li Mei. " Lu Fan's face grew into a poppy coloured blush . "However, " He brushed the small tear from her face. "I'm curious as to why my lady cries? "

She was crying? She had wiped her tears and cleared her throat.

"It is something my lord shouldn't be so concerned with. " Cao Pi frowned, while grabbing her hand and bringing her out to the porch. Watching the rain smack against the wood.

"I heard about your marriage to Sima Shi. " She hangs her head in embarrassment. She did not intend to speak of her marriage, because she, herself, was concerned about not being a capable wife to her husband. Had it been, Zhou Yun as her husband, Lu Fan needn't worry about this matter.

She only nods.

"It seems you are not pleased with it. " He says. She shakes her head.

"Again, my lord needn't worry about me, or my struggles. " She says. Cao Pi sighs.

"You are my cousin- "

"Most people leave their family to their own accord. " she says.

"Yes, a distant family. Just like -"

"You are considered more of a sister than any of my brothers have. You mean something to me, Li mei. "

Lu Fan's eyes glistened like diamonds. Her hands were shaking.

"I enjoy you for your rambunctious attitude. It makes me see that you see me not as a ruthless leader, but as a person like everyone else. " He said.

"I... I.. " Lu Fan began. Cao Pi had welcomed her into a warm and tight embrace. When Lu Fan had sealed her eyes shut, she remembered the dream she had last night. She was a child running from a scary object, and He was there to save her.

"Zi Huan. " Cao Pi smiles for once. It was a sweet beautiful smile that made the man feel like a little boy again. He was used to formality and fear; but when he saw Li Mei, he felt purity and Hope. He felt like he didn't have to intimidate her.

"I am here for you, Li Mei. " He whispered. "Whenever you need me, I will be there for you always."

"I know...Zi Huan." She whispered. 

"My lord," Sima Shi had spoke up, and broke the embrace between the two relatives. Lu Fan had fixed herself and bowed her head at Cao Pi. 

Sima Shi narrows his eyes and watches his wife.  She had remembered her scolding from her husband. "I apologize for running into you,  Lord Cao Pi"

"Think nothing of it," Cao Pi says,she can point out the disappointment in his tone. "All I ask is that you pay more attention. "

She had a remark ready, like an arrow ready to invade and ruin his defenses. Cao Pi smirked and watched her crumble like a tower. Shi must've told her to respect his status.

"We'll speak in your study,Shi. " Cao Pi says while wandering away. He says before patting Lu Fan's head, and leaving. Lu Fan's cheeks puffed while watching  him leave. 

"I'm proud of you," Shi had whispered. He had taken her by surprise and watched her fix herself.  "You acted like quite the lady, not the repulsive brat you normally are."

She bows her head before turning her attention to their room. Only to feel a warm hand gripping her own. "Li Mei... I wish to speak with you. "

She turns to him,  only to meet a rather worried look on his face. His eyes drifting down her face and stopping at her lips. He had seen a small speck of rice just resting on her chin. How could Cao Pi have missed a grain that size? Shi had picked the rice from her face ,and left it on the ground.

"Y- You had something on your face. " He explains,Lu Fan bows her head, before meeting the soft lips of Sima Shi. Her hands shaking as he pulls her closer to him. Lu Fan's heart was beating out of his chest ,Shi pulled away from her and smiles. 

"I hope to speak with you when I return. " She nods while holding her lips, when turning around -- she sudden went pale. Meeting her eyes, was Sima Yi.  Lu Fan had quickly bowed her head as the head of Jin walked passed her. She awaited a witty comment, much like his son Zhou,  she figured Yi would be disappointed in his son's choice of marrying her.

" I wanted to have tea with my new daughter, Zhuge Lu Fan.." Her head perked up, and she was met with an evil glare on his face. He was up to something,  was he going to poison her? Make a fool of her?

"Of course ,My lord ." She agreed, before following behind him like a helpless puppy. She had kept a safe distance while watching one of The Most Calculating Men in China.
