"Why are we going to the science lab today? When all I wanted to do was sleep and eat in class?" Jin complained, his voice laced with frustration, pouting in tiny.
"Jin, you already do that all the time," Jimin teased, earning a glare from Jin.
Wrapping his arms around Jungkook's arm, Jin leaned into him, displaying his exhaustion. "Jungkook, I want to sleep."
"Don't worry, the class will end soon, and then you can eat and sleep both," Jungkook reassured him with a gentle smile.
"Aww, you're the best, unlike this guy who just opens his mouth to ruin my mood," Jin teased, sticking out his tongue at Jimin, who rolled his eyes in response.
As all the students made their way towards the chemistry lab for some practical work, Jin continued to cling onto Jungkook's arm, a familiar gesture for him as he leaned on his friend for support. Which Jungkook was used to, and he ofcourse liked it, a lot.
"Okay, everyone, get in your positions and don't forget to wear safety goggles and keep a distance from the chemicals and fire instruments. Okay, class?" Professor Jaehyun's instructions echoed through the room, prompting nods from all the students as they gathered together. Jin continued to steal glances at Jungkook, who stood slightly apart from the rest of the class. Jin pouted, Thinking Jungkook might be feeling sense of loneliness despite being surrounded by classmates.
Yoongi entered the room after everyone else, his expression blank as he observed the lab. His gaze settled on his seatmate, who stood alone at the back, and a flicker of confusion crossed Yoongi's features.
"Why is he there alone?" Yoongi wondered silently to himself. A nearby student overheard his murmurs and leaned in to offer an explanation.
"Dude, you're his seatmate, yet you don't know?" the student whispered back.
"Know what?" Yoongi replied, his curiosity piqued.
The student lowered their voice, a sense of understanding coloring their tone. "He's blind. That's why he needs extra assistance. The professor will be giving him special attention after the lecture."
Realization dawned on Yoongi as he processed the information. He nodded slowly as the student left, his mind now understanding why Jungkook often needed assistance, like yesterday when he had to go to the nurse's room. Yoongi remembered how Jungkook would sometimes talk while looking in the wrong direction, a detail he had never paid much attention to before. But now it all made sense.
Giving one last glance at Jungkook, Yoongi made his way towards the other students, finding an empty seat beside Jin and casually taking it.
"Oh, hello there, Yoongi. Where were you? I didn't see you at first," Jin asked, sounding both confused and curious.
"I was at the back. You know, I love being all to myself," Yoongi casually replied, adjusting his safety goggles. Jin nodded in understanding before turning his attention back to their teacher as the class began, focusing on the elements and chemicals being discussed.
"Okay class, remember to handle the glassware with care, ensuring proper grip and support," the teacher instructed, gesturing to the array of equipment on the lab bench. "And be mindful of the temperature of the solutions. Always use protective gear and follow safety protocols. And please, work at a steady pace, but never rush. Safety is paramount in the lab," He emphasized, his tone firm yet filled with a hint of caution.
As the students began to work on the instructions, the teacher continued, "Okay class, take your flasks and add H²O. And be careful when you use the fire, don't get yourself hurt, I am repeating." The teacher's warning lingered in the air, resonating in the minds of the students who nodded in understanding, each one determined to heed her advice.
