Professor Layton and the lying girl

Prologue

"Alright Flora,I'm off!",said Hershel.

"Can I come with?",Flora asked.

"No Flora.It's too dangerous.",said Hershel. "Stay here."

"But you always tell me it is.",said Flora. "It's not fair!"

"Flora, I'm only protecting you.",he said.

"You always say that!",Flora protested. "When can I see everything that you're able to do without anyone saying it's too dangerous?!"

Hershel sighed. "Soon,Flora." Hershel walked out of the door.

Flora clenched her fists in anger.It wasn't fair at all.Even if she got kidnapped by Don Paolo,didn't mean she could never see the outside world again.

She would always play a little game in her head that she was like Luke.She'd always go with the professor and he would always take her.

Flora knew that Hershel was her father since he adopted her and he loved her very much, but that didn't stop her from feeling angry and frustrated. She was tired of always being told that she couldn't go out and explore the world. All she ever wanted was to see and experience all that life has to offer.

Eventually, Flora decided to take matters into her own hands. She would find a way to sneak out and explore the world on her own terms. First, she needed a plan.

Flora needs a couple of equipment first before sneaking out just in case.Flora can jump out of the window since their apartment is not that high.And... Who is Flora going to stay with then? She couldn't live outside.She'd freeze to death.

She didn't have any friends except for Luke.But he will tell the professor if she'd asked to stay.She couldn't do anything.Just then,an envelope dropped at her door.Flora,curiously looked to see what it was about.She picked up the envelope to see that it was the next-door neighbours.

She knew as a lady,she couldn't look in people's envelopes,but curiosity overtook her.She opened the envelope.It was a letter.It was wrote by a guy named 'Paul'.But as Flora looked beside the name,it said 'also known as 'Don Paolo'.

Don Paolo?!

That man who kidnapped Flora and impersonated her to fool Hershel and Luke?! Flora couldn't believe her next-door neighbour knew him but didn't care.But at the same time,she could stay there.His address was on the block next to hers.But it will take a lot of courage to persuade him to let her stay.

But Flora had no choice.It was either do that,or stay in this apartment getting left behind and making tea and cucumber sandwiches.She decided to run away at night when Hershel was asleep.That way,he couldn't find out.Flora grabbed the things she needed to run away, putted it in a backpack and put it under her bed.

In the middle of the night,when Hershel was back and fell asleep in his bed.Flora took her chance.She putted on clothes and put her pajamas in her bag.She tip-toed to the bathroom and took her toothbrush,a new box of toothpaste just in case and other things she needed.Flora opened her bedroom window.It was actually high.

Flora gulped.She never thought it was that high.Flora looked around.She spotted her bed.

"I know!",Flora thought. "I can use my sheets as a rope!"

Flora took her bedsheets and setted them on the window sill.Well most of it was outside.Flora took a deep breath and went down outside.The sheets fell down.She didn't care but she shoved one in her bag.

And as she looked up at her window,she realised that she didn't actually need Luke and Hershel in the first place.

"I don't need them.",She told herself. "I won't even step here again."

And then she walked away.To the next block.Don paolo's apartment.
