"Let's begin then!",said the announcer.

Flora looked at the TV.

"Is your crime trying overthrow  the Queen?",One of the panelists asked.

The fake Don paolo stayed silent.Flora could see the look on his face that he never wanted this to happen.Poor lad.

"Come on we don't have all day.",said the announcer. "Yes or no?"

The fake one looked at the camera he didn't want to shed a tear. "N-no."

Flora, hidden under the table with the phone beside her, watched and listened to the whole ordeal.

She felt the fake Don Paolo's agony and pain. Poor lad indeed.

Flora was worried and scared.

"Is your crime murder?",the another panelist asked.

"If only the professor watched this.",Flora thought. "No.Why should I talk about him? I don't need him anymore."

Just then, the phone rang. The real Don paolo grunted and walked over to the phone.Flora kept her legs under the table. She didn't want him to know she was here.Paul grabbed the phone and pulled it up to his ear.

"Who's this now?",He asked.

"Hello Paul.",said the caller. "I'm glad that I found your number."

Flora blinked. His real name was Paul? She really never thought of it since.

"Allen?",Don paolo seemed... suprised. "I thought you dissapeared after-"

"Yes.I know.",He interrupted. "I was just thinking maybe you could... Help me with something."

Don paolo frowned. "And why should I help you?"

"Come now Paul.",he said. "It's just a simple thing.I just want you to build the time machine just like before."

He slammed his fists in anger causing Flora to jump silently. "Are you kidding?! That's what killed Claire!"

"I know.",said Allen. "But what if it was to take down the prime minister?"

"Bill hawks,you mean?"

"Yes.Yes.Bill Hawks.",said Allen. "And for your enjoyment, how about I pay you handsomely?"

Don Paolo seemed intrigued. "Pay me handsomely, you say?"

"I can pay you any grand you wish."

"I'm in then!"

"Alright then.", said Allen. "See me tomorrow at that Clock shop on Midland Road."

Beep!

He took the phone back where it was.Flora stayed silent as things were spiraling through her head.Don paolo was going to take down the prime minister with a guy named Allen just for money.Which means he'll be busy and probably leave her alone.Oh well, guess that it would just be the same.

Something then dropped in Paul's pocket. It was a cigarette pack.As he crouched down and was picking it up,he saw Flora under there.Flora, who just got caught, tried to make the situation better and by just being innocent.

"Good evening,Mr.Don paolo.", said Flora with an innocent smile.

"What the-" Paul took her out of the table by the collar and shook her. "How did you even get here?! How did you find me?!"

Flora was now in hot water. Paul had grabbed her by the collar and shook her.

"Please," Flora said. "Don't hurt me."

"How did you find me?!" Paul repeated.

"I came here to ask..." Flora began to say.

Paul cut her off. "Don't lie to me, girl. You came here looking for me, didn't you? So you could help that 'so-called' good professor who calls himself your father so he can foil everything again?" He paused. "On second thought,he would never do that."

"N-no!",Flora said. "I just came here to..." Flora felt a sense of embarrassment wash over her.She was asking to live with a man who trapped her in a barn. "Well..."

"Well?",His grip became tighter. "Well what?"

"Well...",Instead of Flora saying she wanted to live here, she decided to come up with a lie. "I'm quite curious about your gadgets."

He frowned. He untightened his grip "No you don't."

"Oh,yes I do.",Flora said.

"No you don't."

"Yes I do."

"No you don't."

"Yes I do."

"No you don't."

"Yes I do."

"No you don't."

"Yes I do."

"No you don't."

"Yes I do."

"Yes you do."

"No I don-", Flora paused. "Wait what?" She shook her head. "Despite all of... That, I'm actually impressed by your machines.And..." Flora gulped. "I want you to... teach me."

Paul dropped her. "Teach you?! You want me to teach you?!"

Flora looked at him. "Uhh... Yeah..."

Paul turned away. "Well you could just ask the professor to put you in an engineer course or-"

"NO!",Flora yelled. "He won't! He won't let me do anything!"

Paul turned around.

"Well, sure. He's nice and all.", Flora continued on. "But he always leaves me.I-it's like he doesn't care about me.He never did." Flora felt a lump in her throat. "I-I" Flora clenched her fists. "I hate him!"

Paul then raised an eyebrow and smirked. "You hate him?"

"Yes,I do!", Flora complained. "He was supposed to be a protective guardian to me.But he is actually bad at it!"

Paul chuckled. "Finally got someone that could make a lovely apprentice."

"A- Wait what?", Flora seemed confused.

"Well, you do hate him, don't you?"

"Well yes.I just don't understand what you mean as an apprentice."

"You." He pointed at Flora. "Are going to be my apprentice!"

"L-like right now?",said Flora. "I-I'm not quite sure.I mean I don't think I have what it takes to..."

"Don't be rubbish,Flora.",said Paul as he lit up a cigarette. "You hate him which makes us equal. And besides, you'll be perfect. And most importantly, you'll get rid of that no-good Layton once and for all."

Flora's palms stopped sweating. She rubbed her hands on her dress and took a deep breath.

"Alright.I'll be your apprentice.",Flora said finally. "But you have to promise me you won't leave me alone like the professor would."

"It's a deal!",Paul took out a hand for Flora to shake while the cigarette was in his mouth.

Flora stared at his hand. Was this really a good idea? She wanted to think about it more before coming to this decision, but hatred on the professor overtook her.All she could think of was accepting to be his  apprentice. She slowly took out her hand and shook it.

"Now that wasn't hard,wasn't it?",Paul asked.

"Well... Yeah.",said Flora.

She took her hand away lightly.

"So this is it?", Flora thought. "I'm his apprentice. And I can... Try to get rid of the professor with him.But alongside that,I might... Help him take down the prime minister."
