Chapter Five - Skirmish At Beacon

After stealing Ozma's Staff, Dark RWBY found themselves cornered by Ozpin and Glynda. As Ozpin and Glynda took a good look at them, Grimm Ruby smiled.

Glynda: Team RWBY? What are you doing here?

As Glynda asked this, Dark RWBY abandoned their disguises. It was at this moment that Ozpin spoke up.

Ozpin: You....you are not Team RWBY. I sense the taint of the Dark Multiverse in you all.

Grimm Ruby: How perceptive of you, Ozzy. I was wondering when you'd get involved.

Ozpin: Your presence beyond the realms of the Dark Multiverse threatens the stability of the greater Multiverse.

Grimm Ruby: Good. Makes things more fun!

Sun Dragon Yang: What the hell are we waiting for?! Let's just kill them both and get it over with!

Commander Weiss: Killing Goodwitch won't be a problem. Ozpin however will be tricky. He's like a cockroach. No matter how many times he dies, he always seems to come back. 

Grimm Ruby: I wonder how long it will take before Ozpin gets reincarnated into that farm boy.....

Upon hearing this, Ozpin was taken aback by this. Without warning, Dark RWBY attacked Ozpin and Glynda. Despite being outnumbered, Ozpin and Glynda were able to hold their own. However, it was clear to Ozpin that Dark RWBY were different. They fought with the full intention to kill. But there was something about the Grimm especially that caught Ozpin by surprise.

Ozpin: Miss Goodwitch, I need you to get the other students to safety!

Glynda: But Ozpin....

Ozpin: Go! I will handle them myself!

With that, Glynda followed Ozpin's orders and fled. This caused Grimm Ruby to laugh. 

Grimm Ruby: Well isn't this interesting, Ozzy. And how do you exactly do you intend to take us all on all by your little lonesome?

Suddenly, rose petals were seen flying towards them. It wasn't long before Ruby emerged from the rose petals and attacked Dark RWBY with Crescent Rose. This attacked forced Dark RWBY to fall back just as the rest of Team RWBY showed up.

Yang: Um.....is it just me, or am I seeing double?

Sun Dragon Yang: Oh this just got more fun! 

Sun Dragon Yang then charges at Yang and begins attacking her. Supreme Leader Blake saw her counterpart and immediately pulled out Gambol Shroud. 

Grimm Ruby: She's all yours, Blake. 

Supreme Leader Blake said nothing as she attacked Blake. 

Weiss: Yang! Blake!

Commander Weiss: How pathetic. I forgot how....foolish and naive I was. It's almost sad to watch. 

Ruby: You're going down!

Grimm Ruby: Oh? Then what are you waiting for?! Let's get it on!

Meanwhile, Yang and Sun Dragon Yang were locked in a vicious brawl with both using their Burn Semblances. 

Yang: You know, for an evil me, you're not bad looking? 

Sun Dragon Yang: I don't know why you stick around with so much dead weight. You should ditch the deadweight and play with the big girls. You'd fit right in!

Yang: Thanks, but no thanks!

Sun Dragon Yang: I was hoping you'd say that! I never liked sharing anyway!

As Yang fought her evil counterpart, Blake was locked in a standoff with Supreme Leader Blake. The Cat Faunus was taken aback by the attire of the White Fang. 

Blake: You...you serve the White Fang? 

Supreme Leader Blake: Serve? No. I am the White Fang!

Supreme Leader Blake then lunges at Blake and attacks her with Gambol Shroud. Meanwhile, Ruby and Weiss stared down their counterparts with Ozpin by their side. 

Ruby: I don't know who you are, but we're stopping you! 

Grimm Ruby: Oh if only you knew....

Ozpin: Do not underestimate them, Miss Rose! They are unlike anything you have ever faced before!

Grimm Ruby: Oh don't go revealing the surprise so soon, Ozzy. Oh Weiss? Would you be so kind as to start us off?

Commander Weiss: With pleasure.

Commander Weiss used her Glyphs Semblance to attack Weiss. Weiss was able to use her Glyphs to protect herself. Before Ruby could react, Grimm Ruby lunged at her and Ozpin. As Weiss was able to recover, she and her dark counterpart prepared their weapons.

Weiss: You won't get away with this! 

Commander Weiss: So naive. So....foolish. If only you knew what power you could have.

Weiss was confused but she pressed on the attack. Despite the well thought out plan, Commander Weiss was able to counter her attacks.

Commander Weiss: Did you really think that was going to work? I know every move you make before you make it!

Commander Weiss was stunned. All she could do was defend herself against her counterpart's attacks. Meanwhile, Ruby fights against her counterpart.

Ruby: Why are you doing this?!

Grimm Ruby: Do I really need a reason? How about just to watch it all burn?! And with this staff, it's gonna be fun!

Ruby fires a shot from Crescent Rose, but Grimm Ruby was able to dodge it and attack Ruby. Ruby and Grimm Ruby then fought an intense duel with Ozpin attempting to provide support. Despite this, Grimm Ruby was one step ahead. Eventually, Grimm Ruby chuckled. 

Grimm Ruby: You know, as much as I had fun, I've got things I need to do! Places to go and people to kill! Oh girls! It's time we made our exit!

With that, the other members of Dark RWBY broke off from their respective fights and rejoined Grimm Ruby. Grimm Ruby gave a mocking smile and nod before using her Petal Burst to escape Beacon with the rest of Dark RWBY.

Yang: Um...what the heck happened? 

Blake: They got away.....

In that moment, Team RWBY had their first encounter with Dark RWBY and it resulted in a humiliating defeat. Ruby was now even more curious about Dark RWBY and who they truly served and what their intent was.
