When I wake up in the morning, I look over to the left side. I smile at the sight of him. Yesterday was real. He's really out in the world again and we're back together. I get out of bed and go to the bathroom to wash up. Afterwards, I go into the kitchen to make us some breakfast.
"So, I guess it's okay if you get out of bed first?" I hear him joke.
I grin and turn to face him.
"That's right."
"Good to know."
"No. I just wanted to return the favor. You said that I could take over the next lunch or whatever. So, the whatever is breakfast."
He smiles and approaches me.
"Well, thank you."
"You're welcome."
He puts his hand on my face and kisses me sweetly. I kiss him back and pull away with a smile.
"Do you still like green bell peppers?" I ask.
"Yes. I'm amazed that you still remember stuff like that."
"It's kind of hard to forget."
"Yeah that's fair. I remember the little things about you too."
"Oh yeah? Like what?" I ask as I cut up a bell pepper.
"You like poetry. Classical music makes you feel peaceful almost immediately. You're fascinated by animals that have gone extinct or are endangered and wish that you could rescue all of them."
"Okay. You're right on all counts."
"See? I told you."
I smile and continue to cook his omelet. At the same time, I pour boiling water into a mug along with a tea bag.
"I also know that you're way more into tea than coffee," I say and serve him.
"You're right again. It relaxes me like how classical music relaxes you."
"That's fair."
As he eats, I make my own omelet with similar ingredients and join him. After breakfast, I let the dishes soak.
"I'm going to take a shower."
"Okay. I'll wait here."
I nod. I get a clean outfit before going into the bathroom. I get dressed in a navy blue shirt and blue jeans. I don't wash my hair so I just brush through it. As promised, he's waiting patiently in the living room.
"Feel better?"
"Yeah. I'd offer you the shower but you kind of only have one outfit."
"Yeah. I wasn't exactly planning to sleep over. Not that I'm complaining," he says with a grin.
"Okay. You can go to your house, change, and come back here and we can go from there."
"Or..."
"We could start the process of moving you into my house. That way, there doesn't have to be a back and forth."
"You want me to live with you?"
"Yes. I told you that I want us to do everything that I pictured for us. I could see us living together. If you want to, of course."
"I do. It'll take some time but I want to do it."
He grins.
"Great."
I smile back at him, excited to start living together.
