I looked up at my new high school's sign.
"Ready." I said.
As I headed into History, ready to take my pop quiz, I noticed a note on the floor.
Don't take her.
I looked at the handwriting carefully. Under my breath I said, "Angelica."
As I saw Angelica, I walked up past her, I saw her holding my phone I thought I lost at a Hardee's location in downtown Santa Ana.
"Anything to say? How you just moved out of your uncles home, and is in debt with no money."
Melody came back.
"Eli. Your in debt? You said you inherited all of your parents money."
I looked at Angelica.
"Give that back. Now."
"Why should I?"
"I THOUGHT YOU WERE STILL BACK HOME. BY THE WAY, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE KNOWING THE PERSON WHO PRACTICALLY MURDERED YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR GIRLFRIENDS FAMILY. YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TOUGH IT IS TO LIVE WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS SOME OF THE SAME BLOOD AS YOU. SO IF YOU WOULD SHUT THE HELL UP IN HERE, PLEASE DO."
I saw Mr. Thorne walk up to me.
"Eli. OFFICE. NOW." He pointed towards his office door.
Mr. Thorne had a mini mustache, curly, but flat at the same time kind of blackish-brownish hair. He usually wore a tan blazer, white striped button down, and tan pants with a brown belt. Not the guy you want to be talked to. Now, a principal that wears a jersey everyday, that's who you want to be with.
"What the world is wrong with you kid? I know what happened to you and Melody, but that's no excuse." He lectured me, more than my uncle did when I decided to leave.
"ACTUALLY," I got up from the chair, "IT IS AN EXCUSE. YOU HAVE A MURDERER IN THE BUILDING. SHE WAS DRUNK. SHE KNEW WHAT SHE DID. SHE KNEW THOSE WERE MELODY'S FAMILY MEMBERS. NOW YOU BETTER SHUT UP."
What still confused me was that both Melody, and Angelica said that were extremely nice to each other. Why?
