The hour was drawing near noon.
Asahi finally got up. He was not on his bed, but rather on the mattress that he had lent Sana for the night. Unable to find his phone, he tapped on Sana's iPad to check the time.
"Almost twelve already."
Asahi, still yawning, tried his best to sit up and stretch his shoulders. He was beginning to regain his consciousness. It was still raining outside, so there was not much light passing through the window, making the room really dreary. There was no other sound but the rain.
Turning around, Asahi could see Sana was still fast asleep on his computer desk. The theme song from Otogeki's main menu was still playing through the headphones, which had slipped off her head and were now lying on the keyboard. Her dozing head was resting on her folded arms. She was sleeping so peacefully that she didn't appear to be waking up soon.
Avoiding an abrupt noise that would startle Sana awake, Asahi gently stood up from the mattress and grabbed the small blanket he had just used to cover her body. He was worried that her sensitivity to cold could make her uncomfortable because the weather was still quite chilly from the persistent rain.
Just as Asahi draped the blanket over Sana, she immediately awoke. She slowly shifted her delicate body backward on the chair and turned her face upward toward the ceiling. When she gradually opened her eyes, she saw Asahi grinning down at her.
"Good morning, Sa-chan!"
"Ummm..."
Hearing Asahi's voice, she let out a quiet groan. Then, in a sluggish motion, she closed her eyes once again.
"Is it even morning anymor..." She yawned one more time before answering properly. "What time is it now?"
"It's twelve already."
Asahi reached for the mouse to shut down his computer. Standing behind Sana, he had to be extra careful not to touch her as he controlled the mouse.
"Huh?" Sana let out a little sigh and collapsed on the desk again. "It's still kind of early... Wake me up in..."
Her voice was getting more spaced out, and she eventually dozed off.
"Now, now..." Asahi tried to shake her body. "Just get up for me already."
Once Sana had fully awakened, Asahi went ahead to take care of his personal hygiene before returning to his room to clean the mattress and put everything back in the wardrobe.
Sana was waiting on the sofa in the living room, browsing her phone. A while later, Asahi seemed to have finished his work and was heading to the kitchen.
"Hey Asahi-kun, I'm hungry. Are you down to order some food? It's a little late to prepare lunch anyway."
Usually, Asahi's timetable would call for him to start preparing lunch as early as eleven o'clock. When Asahi had finally finished cleaning the room, it was already over half past twelve. Sana thought that if he were to keep doing all the cooking procedures, they would most likely not be able to have anything in their stomachs before the clock struck two. So, her best bet right now was to have the food delivered home.
"You say that, but are you sure there is even anyone delivering food to you in this weather? And the cost?"
The downpour from yesterday didn't seem to have subsided, as the sound of raindrops and wind remained deafening, even with all doors closed. No one with their right mind would think about going out, and food deliveries were no exception. On top of that, while Asahi rarely dined out, he was aware that on days like this, the delivery cost would skyrocket due to "bad weather condition" surcharges, sometimes even higher than the food itself.
