"August! Where are you, Sis!" John b yells from the porch of the Chateau. August stifles a giggle, still hiding herself behind the tree. "Come on! Games over!"

She peeks her head out from behind the tree. The sun was just setting, in her view she saw her brother, John b and his best friend, JJ standing on the grass, barefoot looking like lost puppies.

"Auggie I swear to god, when I find you the heel of my foot will be in your mouth!" JJ yells, making August laugh out loud.

"Yo, over there." John b whispers to the blonde beside him. "I go around left, you go around right, got it?" Jb nods, creeping towards the tree.

"Boo!" JJ yells. "AHHHH" John b screams. "AHHH!! Jesus, you guys. Unnecessary." August sits up from the tree, clutching her heart from the near heart attack.

"You did that to yourself, idiot." JJ ruffles her hair before walking back to the wooden cabin. "You did, so don't look at me for help." John b laughs.

"C'mon kiddos, let's go fishin before it gets dark!" They hear Big John yell from the porch. "Yea!" August yells, pumping her fist in the air and running for her pole.

John b and JJ follow along, running down onto the dock and plopping their asses on the wood. August and Big John stayed a bit behind, walking side by side the father and daughter they were.

"Hey, kiddo. I think i'm going to have to go away for a while, so you are gonna have to keep those two out of trouble for now." August looks up at her father, the sun was shining in her eyes.

The water rippled around them, waves crashing onto the sand at shore. "What? For how long?" She asked, pain apparent in her voice. The boys were looking back at the two, questioning what they were talking about.

But when JJ caught a fish, they forgot all about it. "Not sure, kiddo. You got this though. Let's just have fun, okay?" The man asked, walking off to where the two boys sat.

August was left standing alone on the deck, watching the three men have fun without her. She no longer wanted to fish, she didn't want to be near her father at all.

Turning on her heel, she left the dock. Putting her pole back on the porch, she went inside and got a book she was reading at the time and left.

She found herself to be at her private spot. It wasn't far from the Chateau, but not close enough to get found. Setting herself up with the blanket on the sand, she laid down on the soft floor, looking up at the stars.

It was a warm, Summer night with not a cloud in the sky. Soon, her eyelids got heavy and she drifted into a peaceful sleep.

Time skip, next morning—

JJ woke up first. He went into the kitchen to get some food for August because she loved her breakfast before waking her and Jb up.

First he went to Big Johns office. He was always up first, no matter what time. Three large knocks on the wooden door, nothing. Another three knocks, nothing.

Slowly, JJ opened the door, revealing an office with less life than he had ever seen it. JJ had been living in the Chateau for a few years, he had never seen it this bear. Opening the door fully, he saw an envelope on the desk just begging to be opened.

Letting himself in, he went towards the envelope, opened it and read:

To my kiddos,
Look, I know this is sudden, but I need to go now. I believe I have found the Royal Merchant and it needs to be known to the world.
I'm sorry for leaving you kids like this, but you're strong, all of you, and I know you will make it. I'm sorry again.
Big John.

Did he really think that this lousy letter was enough time to say sorry? JJ ran out of his room and into John b's, shaking him awake. "Dude, Big John is gone man." JJ broke the news. Jb sprung out of bed, taking the letter from his hand.

"I'm going to get Auggie." JJ said, leaving John b alone. JJ ran to her room, kicking the door open. When the door opened, she wasn't there. JJ looked in the kitchen, bathroom, living room, yard. She wasn't anywhere to be found.

August was sleeping on her side in the sand. The sleep was so good she was drooling. JJ was the only idiot who knew of this spot, and he was the only one who knew thought she could be here.

So when he parted the bushes and saw August passed out on the sand, a stupid smile went across his face. Slowly, he walked towards her, knowing he would have to wake her up without breakfast was not something he wanted to rush.

"Auggie, you have to get up. There is something John b needs to tell-" August cut him off. "Shut up!" She yelled, rolling onto her back. Her hair was a mess and she had eye boogers in the corners.

Her shorts were riding up her thighs and her shirt was twisted around her in seemingly impossible ways. "Oh, come on. Get up, idiot." JJ said, pulling a hand out to her.

"Fine, only if you carry me. What fucking time is it, anyway?" She asked, grabbing JJ's hand. "7:30, now get up here." He pulled her into his chest, carrying her bridal style all the way back to the house so she could get a little more shut eye.

She didn't know what information would come, but she would have JJ and John b. And Jb would have JJ and August right there. Because JJ loved them both, and would never leave them alone, not now, not later, not ever.
