Carlisle's POV
Esme poured her heart and soul into this talk. (Y/N) has become an important figure in her life, from what I can tell. We had similar conversations to this often, and now, it's working on me.
They're a sweet and caring parent to their children. I couldn't find flaws in their actions. Thomas and Annie had a good person to look up to and care for them. (Y/N) makes Esme happy, so they must be wonderful.
They're stressed so often. If I could, I would take every last thing off their hands. Agony, whether mental or physical, is not worth wasting life on.
"Suppose your words have done a number on my feelings for our dear human; what then?" My arms wrapped around her waist, swaying her side to side as a soft instrumental filled our silence.
"Oh, it has, has it?" She looked at me over her shoulder the best she could. A teasing smile graced her lips. Her arms rested over mine.
A chuckle slipped past mine. "It has. You convinced me, Esme." I smiled against her cold skin.
"They're just so sweet. I could share with my husband." Her smile grew even wider; the way her skin shined in sunlight couldn't compare to this smile.
"Thank you, how kind. They'll be a perfect part of the family: a new love and seven kids in total between us all." I mumbled, swaying her in time with the trees outside.
"The house would have more life in it." She said out loud like a suggestion.
"Yes, it would," I whispered. She slowly turned in my arms, looking into my eyes.
She looked up at me with so much admiration. "Everyone seems to like them. How about we make a room for them? Envelop them into the family?" A toothy smile grew on her face.
"That sounds nice, Esme. But there's a problem with that idea." I told her. I wanted more than anything in my years to have them in this house.
Their kids' laughs bouncing off the walls in every room of the house. Framed drawings made to hang proudly on the walls like the graduation caps. Those two were talented artists.
To come home after a long day of work, I would love to see (Y/N) and the rest of the family. Life would bloom deep into this house with them around. I could almost imagine it.
They smell so sweet, something that makes me feel at home. Warm skin that's a deep contrast to my own fridged. Skin. Hearing the loud laughs and cheers of the kids and seeing them smile. It sounded like how it should be.
I wanted them to feel like they could lean on me as much as Esme does. Everything in my power would be done to help them see that. I have become the doctor that they trust the most with their family, and it wouldn't be much more difficult to help them more.
I have the money that they didn't, and I would waste it all away for them. My wealth would be theirs to use. From what I knew, they needed a new heating and cooling system in their car. I would keep it in mind to help them.
There's a missing spot in this home, in this family. It would take for them to feel that space perfectly. Three parents and seven children is how it's meant to be.
Esme has heard Thomas and Annie call her mom once. I wondered how long it would take for them to view me as a dad. It would be a role worth more to me than any other.
"Carlisle, what problem would there be?" She drew my attention back to her.
"If they find out that we're vampires. It would not go over easily." I looked deep into her eyes. "They might run and get hurt."
"Right, we wouldn't want that." Her eyes dimmed for a moment, casting down to the space between on in this moment. "We could protect them from getting hurt."
"We could easily. And make all of their problems go away." I responded back, watching her eyes come up to mine.
"We know what we want." She grinned, looking up into my eyes again.
"Yes, we do." I nodded along, smiling with her.
"What if we just went ahead and told them about us? We've done so much for them. They should trust us by now." Her head rested against my chest.
Esme's POV
I hoped that they would enjoy it here. I catch myself decluttering a spare room and looking at furniture. We have space, money, time, and love in our hearts to welcome them into the family. It's like our family is not complete yet.
Vampire or not, I would hope that they agree to live with us. We could give them everything. Possibilities rested in the palm of their hands.
I can imagine the stress coming off of them in waves here. Dinner would be made for them and the kids by me and Carlisle. Carlisle could pay for their car to be fixed.
I already knew that everyone would spoil them all. Rosalie would especially spoil Thomas and Annie, from little toys to candy. She would play with them for hours.
For now, she's pushing them away, but I knew she would come around. She aspired to be a mother like I had, but for now, she could have a little brother and sister.
"We can wait and see about telling them anything. But I don't think it'll end too badly." I smiled. I remembered Alice's vision.
I just needed to keep doing what I had been doing, and they would be a part of the household. It's already like (Y/N), and their family is already part of our family.
One of their coats hung on the coat rack, forgotten after a dinner here. Thomas and Annie's drawings covered every inch of the fridge in bursts of color.
