The days after the exhibition felt like a blue to Chaeyoung. Her mind drawing back to that evening, to Jisoo.
The connection they shared and had was unreal to Chaeyoung, maybe that's why it currently kept her awake at night. Staring at her ceiling, she heard her phone buzz.
Reaching over to her nightstand, she lifted her phone to see a text message...Wanna get coffee tomorrow?
When Jisoo finally texted to meet, Chaeyoung's heart couldn't help but skip a beat.
The two met at a local nearby café tucked away in a quiet corner of Seoul. The aroma of freshly ground coffee beans filled the air as Chaeyoung spotted Jisoo at a corner table, her face lighting up when she saw her.
The brunette smiled at waved as she approached, to Chaeyoung's eyes, she was beautiful.
"Hi!" Jisoo greeted, "Did I keep you waiting?"
"Hi" Chaeyoung greeted back, "no, I got here not to long ago." More like 15 minutes ago...
After their greeting, the conversation between them flowed as naturally as if they had known each other for years.
"I've been thinking about your paintings a lot," Jisoo confessed, her eyes shining with sincerity. "They have this way of staying with you, of making you feel things long after you've seen them."
Chaeyoung smiled, feeling a blush creep up her cheeks. "That's exactly what I hope to achieve with my art. I'm so glad it resonated with you."
They talked for hours, delving into topics that ranged from art and cinema to their personal dreams and fears. Jisoo shared stories of her struggles as an incoming actress, the pressures of fame, and the loneliness that often accompanied it. Chaeyoung listened intently, feeling a deep sense of empathy and understanding.
"Sometimes, it feels like I'm playing a role even in real life," Jisoo admitted softly, her gaze distant. "It's hard to know where the character ends and I begin."
Chaeyoung reached out, gently touching Jisoo's hand. "I can only imagine how challenging that must be. But from what I can see, you're an incredible person, Jisoo. You don't need to hide behind any roles."
Jisoo's eyes met hers, and in that moment, a silent understanding passed between them. It was as if they had found a kindred spirit in each other, someone who truly saw them for who they were beneath the surface.
"You know, I also been thinking about something else..."
"Like?" Chaeyoung reached to grab her cup of coffee, the artist blew before taking a sip.
"The artist that's sitting right in front of me."
Chaeyoung choked against the hot liquid that burned her throat, she coughs causing Jisoo to look at her with a small smile.
"M-me?" Chaeyoung coughs out.
"Is that a bad thing?" Jisoo asks.
"No-no!" Chaeyoung tried to maintain her composure, "I thought about you too."
"You did?"
"I was kind of expecting a text from you." Chaeyoung admits.
"I'm glad I texted then."
As their evening drew to a close, Chaeyoung couldn't help but feel a bittersweet pang. She didn't want the night to end, especially after their evening together. It seemed like Jisoo could understand when they were the last ones leaving the small café.
"I had a fun time" Jisoo says, her eyes look over at the blondes.
"I did too." Chaeyoung said, her eyes seeing the stars in Jisoo's. "Are you- are you- are you perhaps..."
"Yes?" Jisoo flashed her a smile of encouragement.
"Are you perhaps busy tomorrow?" Chaeyoung shoots out.
"Tomorrow? I'll be free, why?" Jisoo squints her eyes a little.
"Do you want to go on a date?"
Chaeyoung stood there nervous as hell while waiting for Jisoo's reply, the brunette's smile could only brighten even more as her cheeks flushed a little.
"I would love to go on a date with you."
