michael clifford doesn't understand. him and his girlfriend were always in private. not that he necessarily minded, but they couldn't even take a walk outside together. why did everything have to be a secret?
you see, mica is michael's first love - well first love that wasn't caused by his overactive teenage hormones, but same difference. their dates usually consisted of person number one showing up at person number two's door, carrying a pizza. person number two would always provide the movies. these dates would last for several hours, usually several movies got watched, throw in them banging sometimes and there you have it, date night. now, michael thought this was a great way to spend time with someone he loves, but there was also the horrifying thought that mica would get bored with michael and run off to some other man who could actually take her out on a proper date.
this is where his trouble falls in. michael wants to do more for her, take her out for a date that he thought wouldn't be shitty for her, but then there is the conflict of age difference. of course if people knew it would come back to bite the both of them in the ass and tear them apart. no one would ever get off their backs about the seven year gap between nineteen and twenty six.
but this didn't mean michael wasn't determined to get them out of their usual process. he wants to be able to take her out, he just had to stop procrastinating by playing on his xbox and running from his responsibilities.
michael's worrisome thoughts were cut off buy the short ding of his phone.

deciding that he shouldn't take the time to have to explain the concept of grammar to his band mate, michael got off of the dusty floor and shuffled towards the dressing room.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the four boys ran off of the stage and into their (messy) dressing room, taking a quick break before heading outside to see their eager, and sometimes disturbing, fans. straight away, michael pulled out his phone, seeing a text from mica. she told him that her band, insignificance, had just got into london and they were heading for an interview before meeting up with him.
the two had both begged and begged their management to book rooms in the same hotel since it had felt like ages since they've been together. after several days of convincing and one sleepless night (mica's manager lindsay is hard to crack), they finally got to see each other again.
after twenty minutes of drinking from the world's most expensive water bottles, listening to ashton sing show tunes, and seeing luke's shitty dancing, the four boys decided to head out to see their fans, automatically hearing screams.
"bang me like you bang your drums!"
"luke you're so hot!"
"calum marry me!"
the small band walked up to the large group of people and started to take pictures, sign things, and talk. all of this was going well until they near the end of the fans and michael came across one particularly co(cky)nfident girl.
"you aren't dating anyone right?"
michael casually answered "no, im not," like many other previous times during interviews. it had become a bad habit, he had even once told mica's older brother he wasn't dating anyone when she asked how they had met.
"well since you aren't, do you want to go out with me?" she questioned.
awkwardly, michael attempted to put her down, his mind going to meeting up with mica. "im sorry we're actually really busy with the tour and-"
"no you're not. i know the tour schedule, you guys don't have another show for three days and you could always skip out on things." michael could tell this might take a while and he just prayed that calum would call him over or that a bodyguard would tell them it was time to go. anything to not have to make up a lame excuse that anyone could see through.
"really it's gonna be hard to find time for myself-" she cut him off for the second time.
"do you just not want to go out with a fan? or did you lie and you're with someone else? why won't you go out with me?" the girl started to get impatient, and her friend looked very embarrassed, her cheeks reddening. she mumbled something about how the girl had promised not to do this in the car.
"well he can't actually. im sorry," ashton swooped in to answer for him "we have interviews and meetings to go to. but i'll take a picture with you if you want." ashton then proceeded to take her friend's phone out of her hands and pose with them while michael thanked the gods that ash managed to get him out of that one.
