"Quinn what's our room no. ?" Ally asked and Quinn replied , " um.. let me look.... ah ! yes room no.231 in Rose hall ". Cass remarked , " The numbers are mixed up " , which both of the other girls ignored .
They explored the premises in Vandrella and then they went to the girls' hostel . It was a building a little far off from the main school which had 6 halls and each were named by a flower. The Rose Hall where the first formers [7th graders] live , the Jasmine Hall where the second formers [8th graders] live , the Sunflower hall where the third formers [9th graders] live , the Lotus Hall , the Lily hall and the the Dahlia hall.
Their room had three beds and three desks with bed lamps. The girls entered the room and started unpacking their luggage . They decorated their respective desks with their photos , and filled the drawers with books. The room had one cupboard which they divided and shared between themselves. Cass had pictures of her and her brothers and one with the three of the girls which the other two also had on her desk. Quinn had photos of her baby sister Harley , neither of the two girls had their parents' photos instead they had a group photo with Mr. and Mrs. Jones , Ally , Quinn , Harley , Cass , Collin and Max. Mr. and Mrs. Jones acted as their father and mother caring for them , helping them , asking if they ate , looking out for them and many more things that their own parents should have done but which those people never cared about. Even when Max graduated their butler Carl and Mr. and Mrs. Jones where the ones who attended and cheered for Max and when Harley fell ill Mr. Jones was the one who drove Harley and Quinn to the hospital. Ally on the other hand had her parents and friends' photos , she really loved her parents and was proud of them.
The girls were talking when they heard sound of shuffling feet. Ally opened the door and found three girls trying to eavesdrop on them. A short girl with her tied hair over her shoulders was telling her friend to go back another girl with her hair tied in a ponytail and wearing rectangular glasses was also trying to persuade the other girl to go back with them to their room. But the other girl who was tall and had her bushy and wavy hair tied in a high ponytail and had a freckeled face was still listening , she said , " I hear something". Ally and Quinn politely asked , " excuse me " when Cass interrupted , " what the hell are you people doing ?". Quinn and Ally glared at her though Cass was unbothered . The other three girls embarrassed apologized to them. The short girl introduced herself as Amy Milt , the girl wearing glasses introduced herself as Jane Hills and the last girl said her name to be Ashley Hearts . Ally asked , " why are you here?". Ashley said , " We didn't know that room 231 had residents in , we thought it was the phantom". Quinn stammered , " A .... a .. ph ..PHANTOM! " Ally asked , " phantom ? What phantom?". Amy asked in surprise , " you don't know about the phantom ?" Ally and Quinn replied , " No" while Cass said ," I did " to which Ally asked in surprise , " You knew?!". A scared Quinn who was still stammering about the phantom asked Cass ,"If you knew why didn't you tell us?". Cass said while laughing , " What do you mean 'why' , look at her she is shivering and you know i love the drama!" but in reality she knew how scared Quinn would be very scared and she did not want to upset her although she will never ever accept this fact in front of them. Ally tried to console Quinn who was scared of her wits. She said , " Don't worry Quinn there is no such thing as a phantom or anything , they are just rumors." , " maybe " she murmured. Quinn started murmuring , " A phantom , phantom " while Ally screamed , " CASSANDRA CHAMOMILE " and started beating Cass while she defended herself laughing all the time. Ashley whispered to Jane and Amy , " should we stop them.
After they all settled in their classes started. They were in 7-C. A lady wearing a full sleeved , ironed , a skirt and her hair tied in a bun on top of her head, came in and introduced herself as their homeroom teacher. She said , " you can call me Miss Binns , Now I will do the rollcall . Raise your hand when I call your name ". She started calling
" Dawn Darrel ". A girl raised her hand. She was tall and had straight hair.
"Sally Pam ". The girl next to Dawn raised her hand. She had short , straight hair which came up to he neck.

After class the whole of class 7-C went for lunch and sat together. They talked about each other and had a lot of fun. The students from different classes do not talk to each other as there is high competition between classes to win the ' BEST CLASS AWARD' so they try to isolate each other.
"It is said that in the hostels , things sometimes go missing and change from place to place. At nigh you may hear footsteps and all other sorts of sounds , BUT NEVER EVER WAKE UP AND LOOK FOR THE SOURCE OF THE SOUND IF YOU DO...... Even the warden Mrs. Francesca goes back before midnight after her rounds. She said she feels someone following her or staring at her. But when she turns she finds nothing, nothing at all. YOU WILL HEAR SOUNDS AT NIGHT BUT , IF YOU TRY LOOK FOR IT AND LEAVE YOUR ROOM YOU WILL FEEL EYES ON YOU. RED EYES STARING AT YOU , AND IF YOU PRY TOO MUCH AND FOLLOW THOSE RED EYES , A COLD WIND BLOW BRINGING A SPECIAL MELODY WHICH SOMEONE IS WHISTLING. THE RED EYES COME CLOSER TO YOU, YOU CAN TRY TO RUN BUT YOUR LEGS DON'T MOVE . THE RED EYES COME CLOSER, THE MUSIC BECOMES CLEARER.YOU SEE A BLACK SHADOW MOVING CLOSER TO YOU , YOU CAN TRY SCREAMING BT NOBODY WILL HEAR YOU , THEY CAN'T HEAR YOU AS THE RED EYES AND THE BLACK SHADOW COMES NEAR TO YOU AND GRAB YOUR THROAT WITH IT'S COLD HANDS. THE LAST THING YOU HEAR BEFORE YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES IS THE CREEPY MUSIC WHISTLED BY THE PHANTOM. AND...." Cass who was immensely enjoying herself said to a shivering Quinn who was hiding under her blanket , while Cass also under a blanket with a torch to her face in their dark room repeated , " AND - " " And , now we go to sleep. The warden will be coming for her rounds." Quinn still afraid put the blanket on top of her head , only her ankles sticking out.
At about 1.00am they heard a clinking of metals and a creepy song whistled by someone. Quinn and Ally woke up , Quinn shivering. Ally asked out loud, " Is it you Cass? CASS? ". No reply as Cass was sleeping soundly , slightly snoring. The metal clinking stopped , but the creepy music continued.
