A Phantom In Vandrella High school

CHAPTER 3

The next morning arrived with the spiraling rumors of The Phantom of Vandrella . Some said it was just wind passing through the metallic decorations , hence producing the creepy whistling and metal clinking [ a notable thing was that some people who said this were shivering ] ,but they could not explain the warden of the girls' hostel, Mrs . Fransesca   who was found unconscious outside her room in the morning. Some said it was a former student who was bullied into suicide. Everyone of the students who slept in their dorms had heard the phantom and most of them fell sick the next day and the rest of them lacked sleep and walked around sleepily with dark bags under their eyes. Vandrella looked like it was hit with a zombie apocalypse with most of its students crawling in exhaustion . Even the teachers were dozing off. All except one person ....

Cassandra Chamomile. She slept in the dorm and unlike everyone else she was refreshed , energetic and had slept very well. Too well. In contrast , her classmates were struggling to keep their eyes open. Ally was yawning non-stop , Quinn rested her head on her and dozed off , Ashley balanced herself on the cafeteria wall with a sleeping Amy's head on her shoulders while Jane slept  on Amy's lap.  Dawn , Sally , MaryAnn , Robert , Griffin and Peter did not live in the hostel . Jamie and Jacky fainted in the first class of morning and had to be taken to the infirmary by Georgie and Roger . But Miss Binns was merciless and continued on with the class , she would have still continued even if someone dropped dead and still get away with it when enquiry will be placed on her.

Griffin scoffed at his classmates , " You all really are naive. Someone fooled you idiots and all of you are acting like a bunch of scaredy cats " . " This time I agree with Griffin. There are no such things as ghosts. Maybe someone tricked you?" spoke Robert . " Then explain why the warden lost consciousness while she was on her rounds and was found away from our dorms and in front of her room?" the words barely left her mouth when she fell , Dawn and Sally put her arms around their necks , hauled her up and walked towards the infirmary while MaryAnn took Ashley's place and lend her shoulder to the sleepy Amy. She said , " She has a point". Peter who had a gentle personality was genuinely worried about his classmates. He looked at his exhausted classmates and suggested , " You guys are too tired so we should try and tell the teacher to postpone the exam today". He should have never said those words as panic flew through everyone , they could not  write their exams like this! they will all surely fall asleep!. 

Quinn suggested that Peter be the one to complete the 'mission' as he was a diligent student , does not have a rowdy personality , and is the most loved person in the school. Cassandra was sent with him as the others felt he might be the one who gets convinced , so the most sane [currently] among them was send with him.

While walking through the corridor , towards the staffroom Peter asked , " You do not look tired at all " to which Cass replied , " I slept very peacefully as I am used to all this . I only react to movements near me. " Peter further asked , " What about your brother ? didn't you two have the same situations ? I thought you twins were treated alike as you both behaved shockingly similar." It was true , surprisingly Collin also looked exhausted. But Cass was more disgusted of being told that she and her twin behaved similarly [although it is true ] than care why he stayed up as she thought he was busy pulling an all-nighter to study for the exam . She retorted , " WE CERTAINLY DON'T BEHAVE SIMILARLY , NOT EVEN ONCE , and your the so called gentle prince of the school attitude is falling apart." Peter smirked , " Haa! so you knew , but it is too easy to reap benefits like this though I must admit my original intention was something else."  Cass did not probe too much. She saw Miss Binns , she looked at Peter , well at least he was there until a few seconds ago. Currently , he was marvelously convincing Miss Binns and somehow she agreed. THE MISS BINNS , THE DEVIL AGREED . Cass was in awe an these words unconsciously left her mouth , " That cunning FOX ! is it too late for me too appear gentle?"
