These are just going to be a whole bunch of little stories about how Soundwave and Silverstream got together.

Silence
How he missed it.
A dark blue mech crouched behind a collapsed building, holding two bots less than half his size on his lap and surrounded by four cassettes. They were all fast asleep but the mech's red visor was as bright as ever, his mind alert and ready to run or fight at any given second.
Around him, for miles, the sound of explosions and guns went off, accompanied by screams and shouts. Even with the distance between them and the small family, to him, they sounded as though they were right outside.
But thankfully the two snoring away on his lap didn't seem bothered by them, not having his extent of hearing.
They'd been moving for almost a week now, trying to cover the distance between Vos and Kaon, traveling on foot between the two large cities thanks to miscommunication and them missing their shuttle back. So they crossed the borders and large open areas, avoiding roads and settlements until it became clear his sons could not go on much longer, despite the telepath hardly showing any signs of tiring.
They made their way to the outskirts of the Decepticon capital where the large buildings started, towering up. But they were still many days away from arriving at their destination.
And the sounds of war around them never ceased. He'd tensed when just hours earlier, a particularly violent explosion had gone off just a few blocks away, followed by guns blazing and the sounds of death. It carried on for a bit before everything went silent in the area. He'd stayed and looked out of a small peek hole in the wall until he was sure all were gone.
Soundwave let out a long sigh and leaned his helm against the cold metal, the night drawing on. He wouldn't even be able to tell when dawn was, the smoke and ash in the air obscuring any view of the sky.
All he could do was wait and protect his family.
He'd just started to let his optics flutter closed when a song reached his ears, so different from the ones that were now common in this ongoing battle. It was light and filled the air around him, bringing something into his spark he had not felt since his sparkmate had died.
"Packed up my piano and a suitcase full of clothes
And I went looking for a better place to hide
Ride across the border in a broken-down Sudan
With a bottle and a rifle on my mind."
Soundwave opened his optics and sat up, holding his children close as he tilted his helm in different ways to try to catch the sound better.
"On and on and on and on the miles stretched for hours
The radio keeps spitting out the tunes
And every other song is just another tired rhythm
Another tired lover's tune."
He quickly put Rumble and Frenzy down next to Ravage. The cuberlanther lifted his helm and looked at his master, silently asking what was going on.
"Stay," Was the only thing Soundwave said to him before getting up and walking over to the wall, getting on his servos and knees to crawl through the small hole that was the entrance.
The second he stood up, his gun came out and his shoulder cannon lowered, ready to shoot. He turned his helm up and looked at the building opposite the one they were in.
