2. Sunflower

A/n: just to clarify smth for ppl who haven't read my other book, Julien Loki is not our brother!! Loki is our brother and a separate identity from Loki in the manga, if i refer to the Loki that plays on Pxg i will call him Julien! Hope that clears some things up!! Also a few days after i wrote the first chapter i got the worst fever of my life 😭 mc really said "if i'm going down i'm taking you with me"

If a tree falls in the middle of a forest and no one hears it, does it make a sound? That's how you felt about your death. If you died tonight, without anything to your name, did you even exist?

Even in your sleep... even without consciousness, you could feel your arm throb erratically and painfully from where the spider bit you. The pain started in the location of the bite, and as the night went on you could feel it slowly migrate until it took over your body. It was unbearable, you wanted to rip your skin off. Your body instinctively threaded around, broke out into a cold sweat, and did everything it possibly could to alleviate this infection but none of it worked.

No matter what you did, you could still feel it, in your sleep, in your dreams, the pain that consumed your body was more than you could bear.
Never would you have thought a spider bite could be this painful, much less one from North America! God, you were gonna have an early death this time... well, earlier than you expected anyway at least. This must have been your karma for sympathizing with an arachnid. From this day forth, you will curse every spider you see!

Then out of nowhere and nothing, materializing in your vision came a spider. The very spider that bit you...! Only, instead of it being smaller than you, around the size of the nail on your pinky finger, this creature was tenfold your height. Honestly, it was a terrifying sight to see. It was the things nightmares were made of, and this was one hell of a nightmare. The longer you stared at the giant spider, the more your rage grew. Even though you were aware this wasn't real, you still felt the urge to reach out and strangle it just to make the damn insect feel a semblance of the pain you felt at the moment.

Suddenly, it spoke.

"It hurts, doesn't it?" The spider said, voice echoing in your mind. Putting aside the fact it was quite literally impossible for spiders to talk, you couldn't tell if its voice was high-pitched or low, in fact, you suspected it was a mix of multiple voices jumbled into one. "Don't worry, my dear. Even if it hurts now, it will stop by dawn. Soon enough you will feel better than ever. You will be reborn."

"Couldn't have made it a tad less excruciating?" You mumbled sarcastically, your voice coming out strained due to the pain. "Or maybe you get off to seeing me in pain?"

"I can assure you, I do not."

"Then why me." You groaned out in pain. "Why bite me and make me suffer this pain, just let me die in peace. I've already accepted my death, the least you could do is make it painless... Haha, I just realized... this is stupid. I can't believe the pain's made me so deluded, that I've started to plead for answers from a spider in my dreams. I'm pathetic."

"You aren't pathetic." The spider uselessly tried to console you, while petting your head with its long appendage. "Every cell in your body is rapidly regenerating at the moment with new codes embedded into them, of course, it's going to hurt. Even the strongest creatures in the universe are bound to feel excruciating pain."

"Yeah... because that makes it all better." You muttered sarcastically.

The creature paused, looking at you for a few moments before finally deciding to speak up. "Do you really wish to know why I chose you?"
"I don't particularly care, I'll hate you regardless..." You seethed out. "But I'd probably rather know than not know."
