When I got to the hospital I saw a lady at a desk, I walked up to her
"Excuse me, I was told my mom got hurt and came here."
"What is her name?"
"Maria di Angelo."
"Floor two, room 206, it's on the left."
(I don't know? Don't judge.)
When I got there I opened the door and saw my mom laying on a hospital bed

He didn't respond and I was starting to get worried
My mom mumbled something
I looked over at her, she looks so much like Bianca did
Bianca went on a school ski trip and fall off a cliff
Just then lightning rumbled
Why was there lightning on a sunny summer morning? Don't ask me why because I don't know
Then a bubble formed around me as the lightning struck the hospital, leaving me the only survivor

I was sitting in the back of an ambulance crying
"How did you live?" One police person asked
(I don't believe in just policeman I think hi ink females and people with no gender should also be police)
"I don't know." I sobbed
I stood up and went over to a perimedic
"I'm going to go home." I told them
"Ok, be careful." They responded
"I will."
I quickly walked home but school was just over and Will saw me and ran over
"Hi! He said happily
"Ciao." I said glumly
"What's wrong?"
"Life."
"Can you be more specific? Why are you covered in ash? Did you burn something?"
"No, no reason, and no."
We got to my house and I went in, not even saying bye, and slammed the door in Will's face
I went to my dads office and knocked
"Come in." Said a voice inside
I opened the door and my father looked up seeing my tear-stained face and the ash "What can I help you with?" He asked
"Mom's dead. It's my fault." I sobbed
He looked at me and sighed "it's not your fault. You can't control lightning. Can you? That would be pretty cool."
"I should have gone to work with her so she wouldn't have fallen."
"You can't go back in time. Don't rest in the past. She would want you to move on."
I walked out of the room and went to my black room with a dark wood loft bed with a matching desk under it. In the corner is my book shelf of murder mysteries. I have a walk in closet with all my clothes. My T.V is on my bookshelf and an old computer on my desk
I have dislexia so I don't know why I have books, probably just for decoration
I sit at my desk and turn on the old computer
It takes so long to load so I hit the bottom right corner and it works
I pull up classes and do the work I missed
Then I turn on the T.V and sit on top of my loft bed.
I turn on Hunger Games and start watching

(I've never read or watched hunger games but it sounds like something Nico would like)

When I was done I heard a knock on my bedroom window, like a small stone or a pinecone hit the window
I looked out the window and saw Will standing there he was motioning for me to go outside
So that's what I didn't do
I sat back down and grabbed a book off my shelf and pretended to read
There was the sound of a door bell
Then feet walking towards it
The door opened and I heard voices, my dad and Will
I heard two sets of feet coming up the stairs and down the hall to my room
There was a knock at the door then my dad opened the door and said "Nico, someone is here to see you."
"Tell them to go away."
Then Will walked in and demanded "why did you ignore me?"
My dad stepped out of the room and slowly closed the door
I turn back to my book
Will took the book out of my hands and said "I know you can't read. You also have ADHD which makes it hard to stay still and focused for a long time."
"Go away and give me my book back."
"Not until you tell me what's wrong."
"Nothing! Nothing at all!"
"You can trust me! Nico please!"
"Fine!"
"What's wrong?"
I huffed "thehospitalexplodedwithmeandmymominit!" I say really fast
"Slow down Nico! I can't listen that fast!"
"The hospital exploded, with me and my mom in it."
"How's that so bad? Your alive so the explosion must have-"
"I saw a bubble, someone was protecting me and I'm the only known survivor!"
"Oh." Will looks sad

We ended up talking on my bed and then watching a movie.
I fell asleep and when I woke up it was morning and Will was awake but he was hugging me.
"What time is it?" I asked
He checked the clock and said "8:36, why?"
"We are late for school!"
"It's Saturday, enjoy it while you can."
"Can we just stay like this?"
Will was so warm and he was cute. But what would my dad say if he knew
"Nico, I've been wondering... what do you normally have for breakfast?"
"Nothing, why?"
"You need to eat more, Nico, sit up so I can go make something!"
I sat up and he rushed out of the room. Did he not like me? As a friend or as I like him?
Will came back into the room "you need more food in this house!"
"There is a pantry in the basement."
"Why is it in the basement?"
"Don't ask me! I don't know!"
"Ok, ok."
