Chapter four : wait till you see me bloom pt.2

"Ready, set...GO!" Once Mr. Aizawa said those words, everyone immediately got to work.

Joji looked at me with a reassuring nod as Tsu was already hopping and on her way to the volcano as we planned.

"Alright, start the fire now." Joji ordered me.

I stretched my arms and touched Joji on the shoulder. He flinched at the sudden movement but didn't ask any questions.

My palms started tingling as fire emerged except it was less than I thought. I wanted to ask him why he didn't seem to have that much love in him but time wasn't on our side so I pushed the thought away and decide to extract love from myself.

I held my palms against my chest and thought about something I loved.

This time I was starting to struggle, nothing came up in my mind. Our plan needed me and if I couldn't get enough love from me to fly then we would lose, and I do not want to lose.

"What's taking so long? All the other teams already left." I took a deep breath and tried not to panic.

Think, Minori, think. I thought to myself.

I held my palms to my chest again and kept on thinking about something I loved.

To my shock, Joji somehow came up in my mind. I thought about our conversation in the lab and found myself smiling at the thought.

I didn't think it was that out of the question that I thought of him after all he was a nice person but what I thought was weird was the amount of fire I had from thinking of him.

It was way more than I have ever gotten and it scared me because I know nothing of him, how can I think so deeply of him like this?

I brushed that thought away and concentrated.

The fire was enough to fly, more than enough actually.

"Hop on my back." I told Joji. He then went on my back and held me by my waist. I knew it wasn't going to be easy with the extra weight but I felt like my back was going to break in two.

I huffed and aimed my hands downward and started to fly as the fire pushed me away.

It happened all so quickly that I had no time to really think. Joji held my waist tighter when I would fly quickly and let out a few whimpers too.

"Do you see Tsuyu yet?" He asked me with his eyes closed.

"Not yet." I answered and look around some more.

I flew downwards and he holds me tight while shouting a bit. He's so cute.

Uh...I mean...whatever!

I concentrate on my task and I soon see Tsuyu with her long tongue out.

She indicates that no one is near.

I land next to her and stretch out my back. I guess the other teams aren't here yet.

"Let's go!" He says to me.

Even though he said "let's" it was clear that I had to go on my own because I was the most suited for this.

I used my fire and hovered over the inside of the volcano. The heat was really getting to me, luckily I had my leg "colders."

I entered inside but not completely and I quickly looked around.

My pink hair started burning at the heat. I could see my ends turning brown, I started getting nervous.

When you think of it, this is quite dangerous for a trial. How could anyone make kids do this?
