Chapter three : wait till you see me bloom pt.1

BLOOM
Twice the magic of the sun and moon
Just you wait until you see me bloom

This morning I headed quickly to the costume lab with a paper of my hero costume. Last class, Mr. Aizawa said we should head to the lab and get our outfits ready and I was ecstatic.

I sketched and colored mine too!

My outfit is a pink shirt with a pink heart on it, a pink skirt with another pink heart on the side, leg warmers that are dark grey and grey, a headband and two other things that I recently noticed.

During the time where we were testing our quirks, I realized that when I use a lot my fire, the heat starts burning my skin. So I decided to add what I call "arm colders" and "leg colders"

It's basically leggings and arm warmers but they keep you cold. When I wear that, I won't hurt myself anymore.

Everyday I find out new things about my quirk, like how using my love is draining and how I somehow levitate when I take a lot of my love.

But I like to say it's light work.

"So what's your costume?" I heard from behind me. It's Joji that ranked 20th in the last class.

I showed him the paper I made and he looked at it intensely.

"Ah, I see." He said. "What's yours?" I asked.
"I was just going to get glasses that can scan." He told me.

It's possible that his quirk has something to do with his eyes maybe?

"By the way, what's your quirk?" I ask. "It's a bit stupid..." he answers.

I shrugged. "It can't be that bad."
He sighed. "My quirk is high I.Q." My jaw dropped at those words. He must get incredible grades. If anything it's not stupid, it's SMART.

"That's really cool, though!" I tell him. "Yeah but because I'm so smart I'm not good at sports, or...anything that requires movement."

I'm guessing he mostly strategizes.

The time we had in the lab was really fun. We had a nice conversation the whole time while our costumes were being made. It's turns we have a lot in common.

We both like brownies, anime and heroes. It was nice to talk to someone I related to.

After a while my outfits were done, they said they sent it to our teacher and he kept in locker rooms where we would get changed.

Joji and I walked out and went to class which was about to start soon.

Hero class

Mr. Aizawa told us to get ready and try on our clothes.

Once I saw my outfit in real life my jaw dropped. It was one thing to draw it but to actually see it was amazing!

It was so cute, the skirt was a little short though but that didn't matter too much.

I got outside and saw everyone else outfits and I've got to say, my favorite was Uraraka's! She looked so good.

Joji got his glasses that he said he was going to get and they were blue. They seemed like nothing on the outside but he told me that from the inside he could see everything we couldn't.

For example: he detected a crumb of my cookie I ate earlier that somehow got in my hair, and he could see a paper hidden paper in Midoriya's pocket.

He could also see our identities such as : our full names, our blood type AND quirk. Whoever made those glasses needs a raise because they are very useful.

"Okay kids, listen up." Eraser head, our teachers hero name, snapped me out of my thoughts. All the students lined up side by side waiting for his announcement.

The soft breeze that swished the strands in my hair comforted me. In this moment, I feel like I can do anything.

"Today we will do an activity in teams of three. Your goal is to head to that island over there," Mr. Aizawa pointed to a volcano with plants and trees around it far from us.

"You have to retrieve the hidden artifact in the heart of a volcano by teamwork and by using your quirks. First team to get the artifact wins." He explained.

Just from the sound of it my heart was racing. I can't wait to let loose and use my powers.

"I will be picking your teams."

He started matching people together. He put Midoriya with Denki and Kirashima. He put Momo with Hanta and Mineta. Bakugo with Uraraka and Kyoko.

And he put me with Joji and Tsuyu.

My team seemed pretty solid, we all met up and started discussing a plan.

"So what should we do?" I asked. Tsu shrugged but Joji seemed to be analyzing something.

"I've got a plan. It's a bit hard though."
"Don't worry," I assured him. "So what is it?"

He took off his glasses to concentrate.

"My plan is this : Minori uses her fire to fly like she did in the entrance exam, and while she is doing so, she'll have to carry me on her back so we can get to the volcano together. But, Tsuyu will quickly hop and get there on her own to scan the area so we make sure we have no opponents."
He explains very detailed.

"Once Minori and I get at the heart of the volcano, Tsuyu will swing her tongue indicating there is no one near. We don't know how it will be inside the volcano but it only makes that it's hot, Minori will go inside since she's most confortable with heat." He says.

If only he knew that I wasn't as comfortable as I thought and my heat was actually burning me, but I don't want to bring the team down, plus, I've got leg colders!

I nodded and waited for him to continue.

"I don't expect this to be easy so when you're inside the volcano, be careful and prepared. The possibility of a trick being there is up to 75%." He told me.

"Do you guys understand?" We nodded quickly.

"Alright. We're starting now! Everyone get to the finished line."

We all stood behind a red line with our teammates on our side.

I didn't notice a certain person who was next to me until they spoke.

"Don't get in my way." He said. I recognized that voice immediately. Bakugo.

I snarled.

"I wasn't planning on it but I'll be sure to bring a map next time." I said and looked away. I chuckled at my own unseriousness.

Seriously, what this guys problem?

I went back to listening to Mr. Aizawa.

"Ready, set...GO!"
