Act One

“What do you mean by you can't tell me?” Cross asked, his eyes narrowed at Vaggie.

“I mean it. It's not exactly a good idea to repay the person that helped you by sending an enemy to their doorstep, is it?” Vaggie answered, crossing her arms as Charlie could sense the tension rising up between the two. Unexpectedly, however, Cross sighed as he buttoned up his coat and nodded.

“Fine then, but before I leave, I will need to see Alastor again, if possible,” Cross requested while placing his arms behind his back.

“Why Alastor? What do you need him for?” Vaggie asked as Charlie couldn't help but get more confused as this conversation went on. Cross seemed respectful, patient, and above all, a good listener, and yet, Vaggie turned defensive once he brought up that particular question and now he wanted to see Alastor.

“I'm here to retrieve something for a friend. I believe he might have an idea of where it is.” Cross cut into Charlie's thoughts as he turned away from the pair, observing the lobby carefully. He spoke under his breath and stretched out his hand, as golden smoke slowly drifted off his open palm and shot around the room in a quick puff. Cross's attention turned to Vaggie and Charlie as he saw them…and an invisible figure behind Charlie, covered in the golden smoke.

“Drop the guise, Alastor. As clever as it was, voodoo has its cons,” Charlie turned quickly as Alastor's red and black clothed figure appeared, along with his signature smile.

“That was a fancy trick you did good sir! I must say, it's nice to see someone else who has their fair share of tricks up their sleeves. Tell me, how did you manage to silence your conversation between you, Charlie, and dear, Vaggie?” Alastor inquired, his smile sharpening.

“Angelic secrets, I'm afraid. Can't say. I have a question for you though, Alastor.” Cross said, as he reached into his outside trench coat pocket and pulled out a photo of Lute. Her face was angry in the picture, and her left arm was missing as Alastor leaned in and observed it. Charlie had to move out of his way as Vaggie's eyes narrowed at the picture.

“I'm looking for her arm. Seeing as how you seem to know everything that happens in this hotel, you might have an idea where it is.” Cross asked.

“Really? That's your friend? Fucking typical of you, Cross.” Vaggie commented, earning a worried glance from Charlie.

“I know your past with her, Vaggie. I don't agree with her ripping off your wings, or her taking your eye, but I have a favor to repay her. Just be thankful she didn't ask me to kill you,” Cross eyed Vaggie as he saw her bristle up, clenching her teeth.

“Hmm, nope! Don't know where it is, but I think I know who does! Ohhhh, Niffty!” Alastor called, his radio tone voice singing loudly.

“Yes, Alastor!?” The little red demon appeared behind Alastor's back as she smiled at him happily.

“You wouldn't happen to know where an angel's arm would be, would you?” He cooed to her.

“Oh! Yes! While I was cleaning, I found an arm! It was glowing really pretty so I stashed it!” She said proudly, following it up with a deranged giggle.

“Be a dear and retrieve it for this angel, he's in quite a rush!” Alastor commanded.

“Of course! Right away!” She hopped off his shoulder and quickly ran off, allowing Alastor to turn his attention back to Cross. During that conversation Alastor had with Niffty, Charlie and Vaggie had a quiet conversation with each other. With the two holding one another's hands, Cross noticed the light he gave to Charlie spread to Vaggie. Cross closed his eyes as he muttered a few words and suddenly, he could see into Charlie's mind. All her memories, all her emotions, he could feel them. After a moment, he concluded Charlie wasn't the one who knew how to supply the weapons. That left him with Vaggie, and he silently prayed she had what he was looking for. With great focus, his mind drifted to Vaggie's. He also felt her emotions, saw her memories, but he didn't care for the old memories, only a specific, newer one.
