But a mermaid has no tears,
and therefore she suffers so much more.
-Hans Christian AndersenAfter around one week, Thalissa continued swimming alone, searching for a new lagoon that could accomandate her.
She couldn't stop thinking about her sisters leaving her like this. She loved them, of course, but after their mother's death, her older sisters took the control of the lagoon and created their own rules.
Thalissa stoped swimming for a second, hearing some noises from the world above her, noticing a small boat anchored right there in front of her. She wanted to see more of what was happening, so she started to swim towards the water surface.
There were two old men that were singing something, laughing with a bottle of probably a humans' liquor in both of their hands. She smiled watching that weird human scene. She came closer to the boat looking more interested at what the men were doing. She stayed there for more then an hour when she heard the boat moving.
Thalissa decided to go back down in the ocean, when she felt something capturing her long blue tale, she looked behind her noticing a fishing net probably dropped from the boat that she was observing earlier.
The mermaid in panic tried to get rid of the net that was hurting her tail and fins, but her movements made her even more entangled in it. Her arms got wrapped around the net too, blocking her from any possible movements. After an eternity trying to take off that fishing net, Thalissa stoped, thinking that all that she was doing was useless noticing that nothing had changed. She couldn't move anymore, she was in trap, in an ocean that she doesn't know, alone.
She needed to breath, but couldn't go back to the surface...
