Blackwood Academy is on the outskirts of California , right on the Central coast. It's surrounded by beautiful nature. It's got a fancy look with a mix of old and new styles. like I teleported to a modern version of Hogwarts.

When you get close, you'll catch a whiff of the salty ocean breeze from the nearby coast. The campus is huge and has pretty gardens with lots of colorful flowers. The mountains to the east look grand, and you can hear the waves crashing on the shore.

As you walk around, you'll smell eucalyptus and fresh grass. Palm trees sway in the wind, and there are cobblestone paths to explore. The academy itself is covered in ivy and has a mysterious vibe.

Sitting on this creaky wooden chair in the headmaster's office, feels like I'm auditioning for a damn horror movie. It's crazy to think that the Blackwood family has owned this institute for generations, with the name of the academy coming from their last name. Talk about old money and twisted minds.

Headmaster Cullen flashed me a soft smile before shifting his gaze to my dad, who was sitting there like he was about to be crowned king. Seriously, he needs to take a chill pill.

"Well, fancy seeing you here, Mr. Ford," Mr. Cullen said, extending his hand for a handshake. My dad obliged.

"Should've known I'd show up, Mr. Blackwood. Apparently, my daughter here can't grasp anything unless it's spoon-fed to her," he sneered, not even bothering to glance my way.

And there we go again, my dad putting me down in front of a complete stranger. It's like his love for me is on vacation or something. I doubt if it was there at the first place.

I ignored the few words exchanged, my insides screaming for me to bolt and hop in my damn car, escaping from this hell hole. But I decided to play it cool and stayed put like a good little girl.

My dad left without even sparing me a single glance. I desperately turned my head, hoping he'd give me a second thought, But who am I even kidding.

Mr. Blackwood cleared his throat, his countenance stern, and uttered, "Kristen, you have reached the age of eighteen, a threshold of maturity wherein one comprehends the necessity of adhering to rules and regulations." with that stern look on his face.

I give a nod, but deep down, I know I won't be following all the rules. My plan is to stir up some trouble and get myself expelled from this academy as soon as possible. Although, I can't help but wonder if my rebellious actions will lead to my parents disowning me. Well, if that's the case, so be it.

The dean's eyes shift to the stack of papers resting on his desk. "You may take your leave now. Kenneth at the reception will provide you with all the necessary information, including your dorm keys and uniform," he says, his voice carrying that typical serious tone that all deans seem to possess, as if the world would be completely unserious place if not for them. With a gesture towards the door, he adds, "Welcome to Blackwood, Miss. Forbes."

As I stand in the hallway, trying to make sense of the map, I realize that my dorm is Room 507 in Oakwood Hall. It's been quite a journey, and my body is feeling the exhaustion from the flight and all the traveling. Blame it on my slow brain, but somehow after a good 10 minutes, I manage to find my way to the magnificent Oakwood Hall, with its grand and ancient-looking signboard.

I push my one and only suitcase, eager to change and freshen up. My other belongings will arrive later, but for now, it's all about settling in quickly. Stepping into the elevator, I press the number 5, and as the doors open, I find myself in a stunning, majestic hallway. It seems like the rich folks really know how to go all out.

As I make my way down the hallway, my eyes are drawn to a group of three girls, giggling among themselves. Suddenly, they catch sight of me and their curious gazes shift towards my direction. It's only natural for people to be intrigued by newcomers, don't you think? I mean, when I spot someone new, I would totally check them out. Call it peculiar, but it's just the way our human minds work. And if you find yourself in a new place and no one seems to take notice, well, congratulations you are invisible.

As I walk into my dorm, I finally manage to fish out the key from my pocket. I unlock the door, thinking I could finally rest. But to my surprise, a girl lies there, completely naked. We both let out a startled scream simultaneously, our voices echoing through the room. I quickly turn away, trying not to make things more awkward, while she scrambles to cover herself up.

"Wait, what the...?" she exclaims, her voice filled with confusion and disbelief. I turn slowly, presenting the dorm keys in my hand, and reply, "Seems like I'm your new roommate." We both just stare at each other, eyebrows raised to the max, and then we burst into laughter. " A very serious first meeting, isin't it ? " I say controlling my laugh.

"Definitely" she chuckled. I finally take notice of her and my surroundings. She is absolutely stunning. She has long, flowing black hair that shimmers in the light. Her skin is a beautiful golden fair color, and she has a petite and graceful figure.

Our dorm room is massive! It's divided into two sections, giving plenty of space to move around. On either side, there's a cozy bed that looks incredibly inviting after a long day. Next to it, there is a huge wardrobe. On the other side, we each have our own tables, there's a common mini fridge. Oh, and can't forget about the bathroom! It's conveniently attached to the room.

At least we have a great room, but you can expect nothing less from an academy like Blackwood. "My name is Kirsten," I tell her.

"Mine is Emily Jones, nice to meet you Kirsten," she responds with a smile. Maybe, just maybe, I'll get along with her. Not that I plan to stay here for too long, but having some company will definitely make my time here more bearable.

"Likewise, Emily," I smile back at her. " I'll be back after a shower. It's been a long day. " I say while trying to get some clothes out of my suitcase. She hums in response.

As soon as I hit my bed, the thought of food doesn't even cross my mind. Emily interrupts saying "Time for dinner." I slowly turn my head towards her, barely able to open my eyes, and give her a nod. She gets the hint and smiles at me again. Is it even legal to be this sweet? I let out a hum, close my eyes, and drift off to sleep but not before reminding myself that the disaster has begun.
