Eve stood in an abandoned alleyway as the cold spring breeze hit against her skin. With her hair slightly in an up-do with beading hair accessories holding the wild pieces of hair, along with her porcelain pale skin and beautiful eyes with little makeup, she was an aroused man's dream. She was set to meet with her final client for the day before she would have the weekend off. It had been nearly a month since her last day off and she was eager to rest in the brothel. Enjoy the sounds of silence as the other girls would be out on the town for new prospects.

As she waited, she heard a conversation that would soon change her life indefinitely. Peeking her head around the corner, her hair hung low almost giving away her location if anybody were to look in her direction. Luckily- this did not happen. At least, not yet.

"I am tired of being a secret to you."

"I have a family, people that look upon us and see angels among a city of demons." A deeper man's voice spoke as he held the other man in a quite close quarters.

Eve watched close as she saw something that surprised her. The younger man pulled the much older man in for a kiss that seemed to burn the passion of a volcano. She turned as she thought it rude to see such an exchange between people. But as the older man was now turned to reason with the other one, she recognized the man to be none other than Joseph Greydon. A very liked and almost worshiped political power of her time. His normal black hair was now tossed in a mess before he appeared to have tears in his eyes. He chased after the younger man who appeared of much lower stature.

"You know my feelings for you but I am afraid...now is not the time for this...You are far too young and it would be seen sick."

"I dream of a day that a love such as ours will be seen just as a love between you and your wife..." The younger boy said before he ran off.

Eve took a deep breath that was accidentally overheard by Joseph who came behind her. She turned the corner to see if he had left and instead, he stood there. She fixed her hair and dress before standing before him as a lady.

"Did you overhear that conversation young lady?" She blushed as she avoided making eye contact.

"And what will it take to make you forget such a conversation?"

She saw a chance before her. She had the entire world at her feet as he could give her anything.

"So? What will it be?"

"I want to be a noble lady."

"Pardon?"

"I want you to teach me class and the ability to be before your friends and pass off as a lady."

"Ahhh...I suspected you were a woman of the night....only because of your presence here and the state of your dressing. Is that all you want?"

"And shelter away from the brothel."

"It is settled. I will say you are a pupil of mine. But you must pass off as such which means a lot of hard work." He paused before moving toward the building she would soon discover to be her new home.
"You are not sickened at my love?"

"Of course not. I do not know love to be gender specific..."

He smiled before opening the doors and she stood in awe.
