On the side of one of the slums many uncompleted, makeshift roads laid an informal building that could barely be called a house. Inside it was none other than the watcher who was sitting on a ripped couch contemplating the dead body of the researcher, which was lying on a wooden table not far from him.

He was angry. How could he not be, when the person he was looking for, for a long time, was laying dead in front of him just like that? He knew that she was being followed by many, after all her research subject was something that most countries did not like to have information about it,  spread to the common minds out there.

It was just a matter of time before an assassin's knife made its way to her throat. He hoped That he could find her in time. But, he failed, he could tell from looking at her body that she had been dead for a couple of days now. When he came to Lungmen she was already dead.

However, there was a reason for the way the watcher carried her remainings to this house. It was because of the lantern. Somehow, it seems that just before she was killed she managed to link her soul to that lantern using dark magic.

That meant that she was not completely dead, due to her soul not leaving this world completely, thanks to the lantern. He bringed her here hoping to find a way to make use of this opportunity.

"What are you planning to do with her?" Silent's voice broke the calm silence the room had, at least to The Watcher. "If you need the information in her brain, then we can secure most of it without a problem"

"No, I need more than that. I need her alive." The watcher stood up and moved closer to the body. " I will try to revive her."

"Boy...Are you hearing what your mouth is saying? You realize that trying to revive someone is almost impossible, and even when you succeed. The best you'll get will be a mindless monster out of control."

"I know, but that is only in normal cases. However, this one is not normal. The target of resurrection still has a huge connection with the living world. If I am able to establish a connection with the soul, then I might be able to revive her with minimal side effects"

"That means you'll have to go to the other side for some time. That will weaken you greatly. Worst, you might lose control of yourself." Silent warned. "But, that won't stop you would it?"

"You know the answer" The watcher took the lantern and put it beside the woman, then opened the book he had strapped to his belt and pointed his staff toward the body.

He started reading from the book loudly in what appeared to be gibberish. At first, nothing happened, but slowly the sound of devilish whispers started filling the room. The book floated from the watcher's hand and its pages flipped continuously.

Black mist leaked from his tattered clothes and his mask's eyes holes. The mist blocked any source of light, making the only light emitter the lantern with its dim blue light. Shadowy figures appeared out of the darkness and stood in a praying position.

A small dark orb appeared at the tip of the ancient staff, the orb kept getting bigger and bigger until it was the size of a human head. When it stopped, black threads sprang out of the dark ball and stuck to the dead body the same way cables connect to a device.

The devilish whispers were by now screams of pain and suffering, the dim blue light grew brighter and the dead woman's body started flowing.

It lasted only a minute before the screams became silent and the floating book dall back down with the dead body. As things got back to normal, a clear difference emerged. it being the disappearance of The Watcher, and the blue flame in the lantern turning into a black one.
