_Asher said nothing as she sat in Allison's backseat. She had told Lydia she needed to run an errand before they went shopping;
Asher didn't know of many common errands that involved a bow and arrow. Or any at all, for that matter. She could tell that Allison was figuring things out without the help of her family, which was either a blessing in disguise or a really big snake to bite them all in the ass with later."He asked you to the winter formal after the game?" Lydia said suddenly, breaking the shared silence among the four of them.
Asher nodded."Yeah, uh, we were hanging out and—"
"Hanging out—with or without clothes?" Lydia mused.
"Without." Allison giggled.
"Wait, you hooked up with Isaac?" Eli asked, clearly offended to have been out of the loop.
"Yeah Harley caught us the first time–"
"Gross–"
"Right!"
"Ah! I guess that's one way to secure a date." Lydia squealed, diverting back to the initial subject and nearly shattering their eardrums as Allison pulled into an open spot at the preserve.
Allison didn't say anything as she got out, carefully retrieving the bow from next to Asher and setting off down a trail.
Asher and Eli got out and followed, leaving Lydia the last to get out of the car.
Her leg seemed to hate every step, but she knew she had to go along with Allison. The last thing she needed was to stir up anymore possible suspicion against her.
"Allison, you said you needed to stop for an errand before we went shopping—this is a five mile hike in the woods."
Allison rolled her eyes.
This should be good, she told herself as she glanced between her friends.
"Before I forget, I wanted to ask you something."
Here we go.
"Okay?"
"Jackson asked me to the winter formal."
"Oh shit." Eli and Asher both looked at each other, unsure of what to say. They felt like extra wheels on a car with brand new tires as Lydia looked back at them.
Lydia looked at Asher, eyes wide as they walked.
She hadn't meant to say that out loud.
"Did he?"
"Just a friends, but I just wanted to make sure you're okay with it first."
Allison's tone was one that Asher knew very well. She was guilty of using that very time herself when she was trying to get a confession out of Stiles or Parker.
"Sure, as long as it's just friends."
"Well yeah, I mean it's not like I would take him to the coach's office during lacrosse practice and make out with him or anything."
There it goes.
"About that..."
Asher decided that keeping her mouth shut and letting Allison handle whatever it was she needed to.
Eli could barely keep herself from snickering.Stiles had mentioned being upset with Scott, using the last full moon to get whatever revenge he wanted before Scott inevitably got out.
But she hadn't expected to find out that Lydia had made out with Scott in the coach's office.
