A boy

My POV:
After we had gone to bed I felt like someone was watching me. I felt soft fingers touch my face,I opened my eyes to find a strange boy flying above me in bed

I was so shocked that I gasped and he flew up against the wall. The sound also woke up Ava and Joy begins barking at the boy. He looks at me and Ava before flying out the window. Joy runs and grabs the boy's shadow and he disappears. "Ava grab some flashlights " I shout Joy continues to bark at the boy's shadow. We both run outside and look everywhere . I look up in the sky and see nothing but a shooting star.

But there was no body for none had fallen certainly she had been dreaming.

The next at school during English class,Mr Blathers the owl had us read the books we were supposed to learn this year.

But I wasn't really paying attention to my reading. When I thought Mr Blathers wasn't looking, I got my notebook out and continued to draw the picture I hadn't finished since the morning. I was very busy coloring in the wings when the sound of a ruler smacked against my desk. Mr Blathers was looking at me angry. Everyone looked in my direction even Ava "oh no Lili your in so much trouble "she whispers. Mr Blathers made me stay after class "if this is you in bed what is this?"he asks pointing to the boy in my picture

"A boy" I answered

Mr Blathers sent a letter of outrage to Mr Nook that set new standards of Prudery even for him.

On the way home Lili told Ava what happened after class.
"You were drawing yourself in bed?" She asked slowly "with the boy from last night?" I shake my head yes. Ava was shocked "what were you thinking?"she cried "of course you were gonna get caught. Papa Nook is gonna be furious when he gets the letter" I look at Pete the pelican running by with his bag of letters heading into the city

then I thought of something "no he won't " I said slowly to Ava "not unless he doesn't get the letter" I run after Pete. "Lili" calls Ava running after me along with Joy
I rush to the city bank but Pete was about to give the letter to Mr Nook. "No" I shout Ava along with Keaton and the twins come rushing in and see the scene unfold. Joy then rushes in and slips and slides on the floor straight for Mr Nook and his workers,papers flying everywhere . It was not a pretty scene. Mr Nook chained Joy outside when we got home. "I have been humiliated "he shouts "Tom not so loud " said Sable "the neighbors will hear"added Label. "Let them hear "shouts Mr Nook "let the whole world hear I must become a man that children fear and adults respect. This is not a babysitter this is a dog" Joy whimpers sadly. He turns to me and Ava "Tomorrow you two will have your own rooms and go with Label for your proper instructions it's time for you to grow up " I wanted to say something to Mr Nook but I was too angry and just stared with a blank angry expression. Ava gently puts her wing on my shoulder warning me not to make things worse. When it was bedtime I overhear Tom Nook talking to Sable I stand outside the door to listen. "Tom you were a little hard on her" said Sable "she needs to be disciplined "explains Mr Nook still angry about today. "That's no way to talk to your daughter "said Sable using her gentle voice "Sable she is not my daughter " he said coldly "she is my stepdaughter that's all she is" I felt tears brim my eyes as I make it to my room,the bedroom which I will leave and be all alone with no sister to comfort me. "It's true" I thought "I am nothing but a burden and a poor excuse for a stepdaughter. I thought I finally had a family but I'm a burden to them. I am going to be moved into my own room and Ava will be alone. I loved having a room across the hall from Keaton and the twins . All night long as I lay in bed heartbroken I can hear Joy bark outside upset of being outside without me. The snow falls and I try to remember every detail of my room I will leave behind. Sable comes into our room to turn on the night lights and kiss us goodnight before she and Mabel went out. Keaton and the twins come into the room "will anything harm us Mama?"asks Chrissy worried "after the night lights are lit?" Sable smiles at her "no dear they are the eyes a mother leaves behind to guard her sleeping children " "Mom please don't go out"begs Keaton "Dad can go by himself " Sable was wearing a party dress about to go out with her daughter and sister. "No he can't your father can't go alone and besides he is a brave man
"Papa Nook? Brave?"asks Ava. I just sigh and roll my eyes,I was still angry at him for our fight earlier "how is Papa brave?"asks Francine . Sable sits on Ava's bed as we gather to listen "there are many different kinds of bravery "explained Sable "there's those who put others before themselves. Your father has never fired a pistol thank heavens but he has made many sacrifices for his family and put away many dreams" "where does he put them?"asks Ava "he puts them in a drawer and sometimes late at night we take them out and admire them but it gets harder and harder to close that drawer,that's why your father is brave"
I thought of what Sable said but I still felt guilty Keaton and the twins went back into their room and Sable went to kiss them goodnight and light their night lights then heads opposite to my room and tucks me and Ava in and kisses us. "Sable" I say "Mr Nook is not really my father " "nonsense "said Sable "it's true" I said "I'm just his stepdaughter that's all I'll ever be" Sable smiles at me "I'm sure Mr Nook loves you he just has a different way of showing it" she kisses me on the forehead and heads over to Ava and kisses her too "good night Sable"said Ava before closing her eyes. " Good night Children " said Sable and leaves
Mabel's POV:
As we head outside I was worried even though Label would stay and watch the children I still felt worried that without Joy something bad would happen to them. "Sis" I say to my older sister "will they be okay by themselves?" "Mabel they'll be fine" reassures Sable "Label is watching them " "Mother Aunt Mabel" calls Amelia "let's go we're gonna be late" and we head out into the night.
My POV:
While I was sleeping I woke up to a sound and thought I saw something near the lamp but I saw nothing but a bright light so I blamed it on tiredness and went back to bed .
