I walked through the high grass leading down to a dark clearing, my awkward pal Elliot hot in my trail. He was nervous in comparison to me, he was usually the goodie-good of us two.

"I knew it wouldn't be razor wired! Come on, hold my stuff so I can hop it-" I handed my camera over to him, and he protested immediately.

"Wha- hey, no! Dangerous! Do you see those no trespassing signs?! You'll get arrested if we're caught!"

"Oh please- an old abandoned amusement park? There's no way this place is monitored." I began climbing the fence, the cold iron bars stinging my hands.

"Are you sure you want to do this? I mean- we can still go back!"

"You're kidding, right? A bet is a bet and I'm owed a hundred bucks."

Elliot nervously cracked his fingers, watching as I climbed the high fence. On the other side was an abandoned amusement park- some say, that park is haunted.

"Don't listen to Mags, you don't need to prove anything! Trespassing into this stupid park isn't gonna solve anything!"

Elliot has always been my straight-man. Convincing me to not, y'know, jump off roofs and stuff.

"She owes me a hundred bucks. I'm going to fulfill this bet. I'll go into this park with or without you, Ells." I smiled coyly at my best friend.

He opened his mouth as if he was going to retort, but he gave up and just sighed.
"Fine. But I am NOT going to be in the video."

"It's okay, you can record. You know I don't mind doing the heavy work."

"Erm- technically recording is also- I- okay."

Hopping the fence and landing on my feet, I let out a grunt. It was a higher drop than anticipated.

"Be careful-! I know if you don't land right you're gonna hurt yourself."

"Hey! Nuh uh- I am the toughest guy-"

"Mhm- Come on, tough guy. Hop the fence!"

Elliot did a two finger salute, climbing onto the fence with more ease than I thought he would. Maybe it's a height advantage..

"You.. did that easier than I thought-"

"I've been doing a lot of core strength things- rock climbing and stuff-"

"Cute, maybe you'll find a girlfriend who enjoys all of that too."

"Haha.. please- you know my mom won't let me marry anyone other than you." Elliot wiped his hands on his hoodie, stuffing them into his big pocket.

"She does love me.. I still don't get it."

"Who couldn't?"

I began walking, motioning for him to follow me. Putting my hood up, I looked around the mossed over, rotted away theme park. It was eerie, sure, but I wasn't really scared. Decay is natural.

"It's really dark, Adds.. you bring the flash lights-?"

"I did. Turn on the night vision option on the camera, by the way- it'll help you see better."

I whipped out a flashlight and began shining it around. Cawing in the distance made me flinch.

"Shit-! Fucking crows.."

"Hey- it's okay! They're just birds! I'm here- unless there's a guy with a chainsaw, then I'm running-"

"My hero." I rolled my eyes, continuing onwards.

The sound of crunching leaves and chirping crickets filled the still atmosphere with ambience.

"Rolling." Elliot signaled, pointing the camera at me.
