Once again, I was met with the bluest eyes.

"I was thinking that maybe we could go to the drive in- ah, Hey Addie! Perfect timing, this is-"

"Eh-?" I cut him off with my exclamation of confusion and slight panic.

"Adds?"

Awkwardly, I stared at him. Clearly, we've gone completely different paths. His neatly ironed green vest clung to him perfectly, tucked nicely into his khaki pants.

"Long time no see, huh?"

"Erm, do you guys know each other?" Oliver added on, looking between us. He didn't know almost anything about me, so I figured I would spare him the story for later.

"No, no. I don't know this guy. I, um.. I need to go back in to put on.. pants."

I slammed my door behind me and slumped against it, starting to hyperventilate. It's been how many years since I saw him?! I know it was inevitable, I was stupid and got us into some shit.. but seeing him again just brought back way too much.

My lightning-round thoughts were abruptly cut off by a knock.

"Adds, come on! We have plans!"

We do?! Fuuuck. I don't know if I can be around this shit for very long..

I grabbed my usual pair of jeans hanging from my desk chair and put them on, sliding on my platform sandals. I'll just be a silent third wheel, whatever. He's here, and he hasn't bothered to text, so why should I chat?

Reluctantly, I exited my room, putting in my headphones.
"Let's go, sorry for the wait."

I felt Elliot's eyes all over me. I don't need his pity, I know I'm fucked up.

"Sure, okay! You okay, girl?"

"Fine. Let's just go, yeah? I'm just tired."

"Whatever you say.." Oliver smiled to Elliot and began leading the way out. I followed, not even passing a glance to my once best friend.

"Um.. Alex got a job at some kind of tech join, Adds. I thought you'd find that exciting.."

"Cool, I'm.. glad that your friend is doing good."
He didn't bother to call. Not once. Maybe he was waiting for me to call him, sure, but we were so close.

"My friend-? Adds-"

Oliver passed the corner and I stopped in my tracks, turning to look at Elliot.
"I don't know if you got like, amnesia or whatever, but YOU stopped talking to ME. Alex stopped talking to ME, I'm not being a bitch right now. You straight up just stopped talking to me. How do you feel about that, huh? You cannot say that I didn't try, I text you and you just didn't respond-"

I was cut off by being pulled into a hug by Elliot.
"I'm sorry, Adds. It was a lot. I have no excuse for just leaving you hanging dry."

I stood still and just quietly questioned the situation I was in. Elliot hasn't really changed- well, he's much taller now.. and he isn't wearing a dinosaur polo shirt. He also feels much more confident in his actions.

"This.. um, this doesn't feel right," What else did you want me to say?!

"R- right, sorry, Adds."

"Besides- you're with Oliver, I don't wanna overstep. Especially with the whole.. hugging thing?"

As I said this, he let go- and to be honest, I didn't even know we were still hugging.
"Right, yeah. Of course. Oliver-? Oh, no, we're just-"

I sped off to catch up to my pal, Elliot sighed as he didn't finish his sentence, but he soon followed as well.
