ALLISON GRACE (Eighteen years before)
Ashton Bures, the heir to the Blood moon pack just marked me.
My mate just mated and marked me.
It was the best thing I have ever done.
Ashton is so much better than I thought he was. He's sweet, caring, nice, beautiful and knows how to make love.
But that's the least of my worries at the moment.
"You let the enemy mark you! And by the scent... mate you?" my father says, angry.
"He's my mate daddy." I tell him avoiding eye contact.
"Reject. him." he says.
"No!" I say, raising my voice and meeting his eyes.
"Excuse me?" he says stepping closer.
"I said no. He's, my mate. I will not reject him." I speak.
"Fine." he says, smirking at me, then exiting the room.
Oh no.
The front door slams shut, and I run to the nearest window.
My father changes into his wolf and charges for the west border with guards following suit.
The west border is the way to Ashton's pack.
I run to the door and try to open it buts its locked. And not just locked the handle, locked by magic. By our beta, hybrid witch and werewolf.
The beta followed my father.
Goddess please be okay.

Hours pass and I hear nothing. The door doesn't open, and no one comes to check on me.
The sun sets and I feel nothing.
Then I feel everything.
My heart tears in half and I fall to my knees in a goddess awful scream. I clutch my chest and roll around on the floor for what feels like eternity.
My wolf cries. Literally.
I sob trying to get the pain to stop. It doesn't.
It doesn't lesson.
Then my neck burns.
At the mating spot.
I touch my neck and feel for the dots of Ashton's mark but it's not there.
And neither is the mate bond.
It's gone.
And so is my mate.
Because the pain is what losing a mate feels like.
Ashtons dead.

"She should be waking up soon." someone says.
I try to open my eyes, but I can't.
My eyes won't open.
I try to lift my arm, but it won't move.
I try to do anything, but nothing works.
"Are you positive, doctor?" I hear my father say.
"Yes, Alpha. Allison's pregnant."

(ten months later)
"You have to push, honey." Mary, the delivery nurse, tells me.
"I'm trying!" I yell at her.
"Good, Allison. Now one more big push and your baby should be out." she says.
I give one more big push with a scream.
Suddenly the room fills with cries.
The nurse wraps my baby in a blanket before handing the pup to me.
"It's a girl." Mary says.
I peer down at my baby, mine and Ashtons baby.
Because it defiantly is Ashtons baby.
The black hair and sky-blue eyes.
Goddess, she looks just like him...
Tears form in my eyes at the thought of him.
"Calista." I speak.
Mary smiles at me before saying, "Does it have a meaning?"
I smile at Mary without taking my eyes off Calista.
"Most beautiful." I tell her.
Just like her father...
