students, on their way to school, are chattering in excitement. loud conversations can be heard all throughout the bus.

'why do they have so much energy in the morning..?'

nicolas looks over to where there is an empty seat, next to a girl with orange hair and two boys behind her talking to eachother.

he walks up to her and asks, "is this seat taken?"

she looks up at him, hesitantly responding.

"uh no, you can sit here.."

"oh thanks," he gives her a tired grin which she replicates.

"hi!" one of the boys yell out.

nicolas and the girl next to him just back, turning around violently.

"is that your house??" he asks the girl next to nicolas, pointing to a junkyard with a bunch of buses.

"what's up with the whole bus graveyard thing?"

the girl with orange hair looks at him concerned, "it's just a junkyard with used buses.."

"that's it?"

"yea?"

"well, that's disappointing.." he leans back into his chair. "i was hoping for some kind of lore or paranormal jazz."

"this town isn't that interesting.." nicolas comments, relaxing back into his chair, putting on his string headphones.

he sees them continuing to talk but he decides to not join in until his thoughts were interrupted by the blonde boy.

"hey!" he practically screams, tapping on nicolas's shoulder.

"huh?"

"what's your name??" he asks, leaning in curiously.

"it's nicolas"

"oh cool! i'm aiden, and that's my cousin ben!" he introduces, pointing to the brunette next to him.

"we just moved here a week or so ago from virginia. can't remember what town it was though..oh hey, we live just down the road from you! since we live so close, we should hang out more often!" he proposed.

"uhm, maybe.. i don't know though."

"oh okay, well.."

he continues talking.

nicolas walks next to the girl he learned was named ashlyn. ben and aiden behind them, the latter still talking.

"woah this school is so small."

'atleast he says something truthful once in a while...' nicolas thinks, looking around at all of the nearby kids.

YANK!

nicolas looks back to see ben pulling aiden's backpack and pointing to the principals office.

"ohh right."

nicolas looks towards ashlyn, just to see her speed walking away.

'omg, what a betrayal. i can't believe this!'

"we've gotta pick out schedules—" aiden begins before noticing a missing person.

"—up.."

"yeah, she kinda left." nicolas says with a small laugh.

"that's fine i guess, might as well let you leave so you can head to class." aiden says, giving him a light smile.

"okk, see you guys later." nicolas waves goodbye to aiden and ben before waking towards his homeroom class.
