Lola's POV
I bring my mug to my lips while trying my best not to look over Sol's shoulders as my curious family members try to peek out of the kitchen to listen in on our conversation.
I say 'conversation' but technically ever since Sol stepped into the house I haven't been given the opportunity to even place a word, no, Sol has deemed it necessary for me to hear about her college life abroad. I wish I could say I'm interested but I feel like there's a deeper motive as to why she's yapping away for so long.
I want to be nice and not jump to conclusions but there's an eerie feeling I get each time Sol is around and I'm not the only one who noticed...
EARLIER
"a childhood friend?" my mother had whispered to me earlier as I poured Sol some coffee in the kitchen.
My father had shaken his head, rubbing his beard pensively "that can be possible but why did she bring you the gift basket and not him?" he had pointed out.
Right, dad, why didn't Jungkook bring me the hangover basket himself, why send Sol?
"she's marking her territory" Lucas blurted out, absentmindedly scrolling through his i-pad and at this we all slowly turned our heads to look at him.
"It's like with Suho's dog..." he claimed and looked up at us, adjusting his reading glasses.
Suho was Lucas' best friend this year and yes Lucas was very popular for his age unlike me.
"the first time I went over for a play date, Suho's dog peed on him and his mom told us that he was marking his territory" he says and returns his attention to his iPad.
"maybe she peed on the gift basket" he shrugged and we all turned our heads to glance at the gift basket settled on the kitchen island.
