I looked at the mirror as I finished fixing my hair along with my dress and cloak. My wings closed underneath the draping cloth. The wings one my head wrapped around my face, covering my eyes. I found it a little silly how, even though they're blocking my eyes, I can still see perfectly fine. I finished sliding on my elegant fingerless gloves and putting on my normal black lipstick. Finally, I was done.

I look over at Adam who was finally getting out of bed. He stretched out his arms into the air and stretched out his wings, he let out a yawn as he rubbed his eyes. His brown hair was a mess and bags could still be seen under his eyes. He lazily looked over in my direction, finally noticing that I was finished getting ready, he groaned and stood up,he lazily grabbed his morning robe and put it on. He yawned and stretched again as he walked over to me, I felt his arms wrap around my waist as he pulled me close to him. My back was against his chest and his head rested on my shoulder.

"Mornin."

"Good morning,Addy."

"Why are you dressed up already? It's 6 in the god damn morning. Sleep in."

"You know I would love to but, we both have some work to do today."

I could hear Adam groan in annoyance, a few weeks ago he proposed to me. We've been happy ever since, and a little more chaotic than usual. "You get dressed dead and I'll go downstairs to make us something."
Adam huffed and groaned, and he finally rolled his eyes as he agreed. He yawned once more as he left for the bathroom, I chuckle as I excited our Master bedroom and down the stairs, surprisingly I see Vaggie sitting at the counter with a cup of greatly brewed coffee.

"Well hello,Vaggie. How are you this morning?"

Vaggie turned to look at me, her smile was slightly uneasy,making me curious.

"Hello,mom. I'm fine."

"Is everything alright? You seem lost in thought?."

"I'm fine, I promise." She gave me a reassuring smile but I could see through it.

"Vaggie, you know you can tell me anything. It's my duty as one of your commanders to look after you and the others."

Vaggie sighs before she finally speaks up, "It's about the exterminations. I can't help but just feel like we're doing something wrong. I wanted to speak to Adam about it today but,... I don't know. Do you think we should, find a different way to handle the overpopulation in hell?"

I placed my hands on Vaggie's shoulders and looked at her with a smile. She looked up at my face,my wings folded together beside my head, revealing my blue eyes. "You want to stop the extermination? Vaggie look at you, as fragile as a flower." I run my hand through her hair and booped her nose. "Still a little sapling, just a sprout." I pat her head as I took a step back. "You know why we go down there every year."

"Yes I know but-"

"That's right, to keep heaven safe and sound dear."

Vaggie shuffled in her place, she was starting to regret saying anything. "I guess I always knew this day was coming. Someday you'd think you know what's best!"

I started to sound a little upset, but then I changed my tone to sound happy. "Soon but not yet!" She tried interrupting me.

"But-"

I placed a finger on her lips stopping her from finishing her sentence. "Trust me pet. Mother,knows best." I giggle as the lights went out. Vaggie turned on the flashlight on her phone to see. "Mother knows best, listen to your mother, it's a scary world down there." I watch as Vaggie tries to walk around to find me, I place my foot out and she tripped over but I caught her. "Mother knows best, one way or another, something will go wrong I swear!" She dropped her phone as I dragged her away but she broke free and stood up, she went back to trying to find her only source of light and me. I appeared in front of her a circle of light surrounded us in a little circle. "Ruffians, thugs! Poison ivy, quick sand! Cannibals and snakes! The plague!" I stood beside her with a plague mask and she got scared. "NO!"
