The next day was mainly uneventful. All the teachers were afraid of the events that occurred yesterday and decided to keep it cool so the students could get under control. However, Pic-talk, Shortz, pic-interest, and other social media accounts were blowing up!

When Maddie and Hannah were walking outside on the cross-walk next to their school, they noticed that the party streamers were taken down and the welcome signs were replaced with some dark blue and gold signs reading "Beginning of the year dance!" in fancy cursive lettering with tiny gold stars and dots.

"Wow! That was fast!" Hannah stated.

"What was fast? That car that just passed us? It only went about 40 miles an hour. To me, it's not that fast." Maddie claimed, turning her head to look at the black SUV that passed by.

"No, but speaking of that car, it was a black SUV. A large one. Like a special Governor's car or something!" She mentioned, making weird motions. Maddie tries reassuring Hannah that the large car wasn't abnormal.

"Don't be silly. That was just a normal car. Plenty of people here have SUVs just like that one. She claimed, "Even my mom has a white one like that."

Hannah shrugged, waving her hands like those words were flies she had to swat away. "Well, That wasn't what I was talking about, so, it doesn't matter anyway."

"Then what were you talking about?" Maddie asked, a little aggravated.

"Look at the sign. There's already a dance coming up. Usually, they only have dances at the end of the nine weeks, plus the Winter Gala during the middle of the second nine weeks."

Maddie shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe they wanted to make a change," she claimed, bursting through the doors.

"I guess, but isn't it unusual?"

"Sure, but that doesn't mean it's a problem, the only thing unusual around here is ladybug and cat black."

"Hm." she sighed, a small smile on her face. "I wish I had her courage, she's so brave, and she would never get picked on... like me." her smile had a bit of sadness from her last words.

"Maybe it'll be better someday. We're not even high schoolars. And hardly anyone remembers your various nicknames-"

"Here we go again" Hannah smirks

"There was Hannah Banana-" She lists.

"The one where I tripped on a banana peel and my lunch tray fell all over me? Yeah, No thanks."

"Witches sister-"

"That one wasn't my fault, My sister had Mr. Greg for sixth grade before I did, and she got the name first."

"Dodge fall-"

"They covered that ball in veggie oil, the janitor can vouch for me!"

"Marylander-"

"Good thing Mr. Greg doesn't teach geography, he couldn't remember where we were from. Hey wait, he's given a few nicknames to us, that's cheating!"

"Oh, can't forget Rosie"

"Yeah, when Grace pushed me into the rose bush, and I had roses and thorns sticking to me for an hour before I could get to the nurse." She shutters and puts her hands on her backpack's shoulder straps. "Those thorn pricks lasted for weeks, I had a rose crown indent on my forehead! My bangs barely helped cover it."

"Well, we're in an upper grade now, we are the up... ton besides, being girls, and eighth topping us," Maddie explained, leaning over to Hannah with a smile. "It'll just get better from here. Promise."
