Samar's P.O.V.

"Good Morning," I mumbled sitting down at the dining table with everyone for lunch, I had slept through the morning after I took sleeping pills to calm my nerves down. The dream that I had about Amal, Waliyah, and I scared the absolute crap out of me, I had no idea what was going on, how Amal was there, and why Waliyah was the one who passed away. That whole dream creeped me out, I mean, Amal had come to visit me before, but they were more about us, not about this ongoing daily battle Waliyah and I had.   When I had fallen back asleep I waited for Amal to come back again, I awaited to dream about her, but there was nothing. . just darkness.

"You mean afternoon," Faraz said passing me the plate of eggs, "You haven't come down all morning."

Rolling my eyes I poured myself a cup of chai, and began eating, "Function kaisa tha poocho ge nahi?" (Will you not ask about the function?) Amma asked looking at me intently.

I shrug, "Mein kyu poocho?" (Why should I ask?)

Amma shook her head in disappointment, "There is no point in trying to have a conversation with you anymore."

I give her a bored look, "Talk to me about anything else, I will gladly have a conversation with you Amma." It was like she was obsessed with Waliyah or something, she would not speak to me about anything else.

Baba cleared his throat "Why did you wake up so late?"

"I couldn't sleep." I kept it short, "I took some pills late at night to help me." They knew about my insomnia, so this behavior of mine was not something that was new. "Sorry,"

"Koi baat nahi,"(It's okay) Baba sighed, "Will you be going to work after lunch though, Atif was telling me about some papers that are pending to be signed off by you.'

I nodd, "Yeah, Bhai was saying it was a major stock change. I just want to look over them one more time so there are no loopholes and then we are good to go."  Our company was buying major stocks of another company, and this would put us on the map in the construction market.

"Good to hear,' Baba smiled, I was never interested in all this paperwork, and construction work. I liked designing, I had told Baba that Bhai was much more capable of being the CEO, and I wanted him to let me be the head of design but he did the opposite. Bhai had the strategic moves while I had the artistic mind, but when it came to the business Baba wanted no comprise. So here I am stuck piled under paperwork, and contract management, while Bhai struggled with design ideas.

Forcing myself to smile back at him I swallow my food with the help of my chai. "Dua?" I ask it had been a day or so since I had seen her, "Did she come back yet?"

"No," Faraz answered, "Bhabhi and she stayed back last night." His body language changed immensely as he said that, not wanting to touch on the topic infront of Amma I nodded acknowledging his answer.

Quickly scarfing down my brunch I stood up, "I am going to get ready for work." I turned to leave but Amma stopped me, "What's up?"

"When will you be back?" She asked,

"Amma I haven't even left yet," I say confused, "It depends on how long everything will take considering the paperwork."

"There is another dholki tonight," She said, "Agar tum aa jaate saath mein toh acha hota."  (If you came along, it would be nice.)

"I am not coming." I say firmly, "We have talked about this Amma." I do not understand why she was so adamant about wanting to push my buttons today, "Wafa doesnt even have a problem so why does it bother you so much?"
