For Crying Out Loud

Chapter 8

I got up to look in the fridge for a bottle of water knowing that there was no access to alcohol while on the bus, but I needed something to drink to quench my thirst. The silence that filled the room was eerie and uncomfortable until Normani opted to say something.

"Why is the fact that Ariana calling Lauren such a big deal anyway?" Normani asked.

Dinah, Lauren, and I looked at one another.

"You never told her!" Camila yelled.

"Camz, keep your voice down you're getting upset over nothing and making it a big deal when it's not" Lauren said reaching for her phone in Camila's hand.

"She use to date Ariana. That's why it's a big deal Normani" Camila said.

"Are you serious? Why didn't you tell me Lauren? That's pretty cool" Normani said.

"It is not cool she's going to try to steal Lauren away from me. It's a miracle that Lauren even chose me in the first place" Camila said.

"For the love of God Camila stop being over dramatic and give me my damn phone. I can talk to whoever I want to I don't need your fucking permission. Now could you sit down and shut the fuck up" Lauren said angrily.

Lauren's phone started to go off again and I thought for sure that Camila was going to answer it but instead she tossed it in my direction and it landed on my lap.

"Answer it" Camila said.

"I'm not sure... that's like an invasion of privacy" I said nervously looking over at Lauren.

"It's okay Ally you can answer it" Lauren said.

I picked up the phone from my lap I was about to tap the accept call button when Camila's words caught me off guard.

"Tell her to not call Lauren anymore and to lose her number. Come on Lauren we have a lot we need to discuss" Camila said tugging on Lauren's arm.

"Camz I want to watch the show instead. Can our so called important discussion wait until later?" Lauren said.

"Why are you being a bitch towards me?" Camila asked.

That's when I realized that Lauren was right about Camila. We would all jump to the conclusion that Lauren did something wrong when in reality it was Camila. I felt bad for always taking Camila's side when it came to an argument between Camila and Lauren.

"Fine I will just watch the episode later. I'm sorry" Lauren said.

Camila smiled and then pulled Lauren towards the back of the tour bus and closed the door behind them. Lauren's phone went off yet again displaying Ariana's name on the screen. I accepted the call immediately walking out of the tour bus as I did so.

"Hey Lauren is everything okay? I called you like two times" Ariana said.

"Um... this isn't Lauren" I said.

"Oh sorry do I have the wrong number?" Ariana asked.

"No you don't I'm just not Lauren" I said.

"Oh then who am I speaking to? Camila?" Ariana asked.

I chuckled. "You're definitely not speaking to Camila because if you were you would never get a word in and this entire conversation would consist of her yelling at you to stay away from Lauren and to lose her number" I said.

"Figures... who am I speaking with?" Ariana said.

"I'm Ally one of Lauren's bandmates" I said.

"I remember you. What are you doing with Lauren's phone?" Ariana said.
