For Crying Out Loud

Chapter 9

I sat on the tour bus eating the cinnamon covered pita chips that Normani's mom gave to Lauren and I. I was supposed to share them with her but it seems she was doing a lot of sharing of her own lately. I was watching 500 Days of Summer when Lauren got on the tour bus all sweaty and out of breath. She didn't notice me until she heard me close the bag of chips.

"Oh shit Ally I thought you were already backstage at the venue" Lauren said startled.

"Nope I was going to make my way back there after I finished the movie" I said.

"Is um... Camz already in there?" Lauren asked.

"I think so... why?" I asked curious.

"It's nothing I just needed to know where she was" Lauren said digging around in her bunk.

I thought now was the time to bring up the conversation with Ariana. "Dinah and I went to go see Ariana. She's really nice and polite and a very sweet girl. I don't understand why you two broke up" I said.

"You just listed the reasons why we broke up Ally" Lauren said stopping what she was doing to look at me.

"Was Camila really the reason why you two broke up or are you using that as an excuse?" I asked turning the TV off and putting the bag of chips in the cupboard.

"Are you seriously grilling me right now about Ariana? You're starting to act like Camila" Lauren said frustrated.

"Just answer the question Lauren. I don't really care that you're feeling attacked right now because I am putting you on the spot" I said.

"Fine... Camila was my excuse but she did give me a choice though to choose between the two of them and I chose Camila because I was too much of a coward to tell Ariana that I didn't feel the same way about her that I did before" Lauren said.

"So you were in love with Camila during our time at X Factor?" I asked trying to put everything together.

"No... Camila was in love with me and she thought I loved her back then especially since her chose her over Ariana and I let her believe it but I knew at that time I couldn't love her and yes we flirted and even messed around a little bit but at that time I didn't love Camila" Lauren said.

"You're a fucked up person Lauren" I said.

Lauren's eyes got big at my use of language. Normally I would try to avoid using foul language but Lauren just pushed me over the edge.

"Ariana is still in love with you and you act like her love means nothing to you. I'm sure she cries herself to sleep at night only because you're a fucking idiot who decided to use Camila as your excuse to break up with her" I said.

"She has a boyfriend" Lauren said.

"He's a distraction to try to get her to not think about you Lauren. Ariana is hurting and she's trying to be your friend and you're keeping her at a distance" I said.

Lauren's face got red and I know she was angry and I was angry with her too but when she stood in front of me towering a couple of inches taller than me it wasn't the greatest feeling. Lauren had her hands clenched into fist.

"You don't know shit about what happened in Ariana and I relationship so you need to butt out!" Lauren yelled pushing past me.

I stood there completely in shock. It was as if Lauren didn't care about anything I just said to her. It was as if I was talking to a wall. I got off the bus and made my way backstage and got dressed for tonight's show. We all said a prayer before the show like always and Camila and Lauren kissed before they went on stage like always and we sung our hearts out. The crowd was very energetic and cooperative which was great. When we were done we walked backstage to see Demi back there waiting for us.
